This document proposes a reputation-based consensus mechanism called Proof-of-Reputation (PoR) for blockchain systems. In PoR, each node's reputation is calculated based on ratings from other nodes as well as the reputation of the rating nodes. Only nodes with the highest reputation values become part of the consensus group that determines the blockchain state. The document outlines key contributions of PoR, including how reputation values are calculated and stored on a side chain. It also reviews related work on consensus algorithms and reputation systems to provide context on distributed consensus and how reputation has been applied in other systems.
