1) The study observed 196 ambulance dispatches in the Netherlands to determine the extent to which ambulance nurses adhered to national ambulance protocols.
2) Deviations from protocols were found in 47% of dispatches, with no protocol being followed in 20% of cases and mistakes in physical examinations occurring in 20% of cases.
3) Protocol adherence did not significantly correlate with years of service, years since specialized training, or type of specialized training and was not related to the time of day.
