Adris Technologies Ltd was established in 2014
to research, develop and create technologies
that detect and aid people who suffer from
epilepsy and other heart conditions. Winners
of the Nominet Trust Social Tech Seed Award,
company. Their PulseGuard®
monitoring system
was listed in the NT100, celebrating the best
‘Tech for Good’ devices.
PulseGuard®
was developed by
Adrian and Sue Perry, to monitor
their son Tom, whose silent seizures
could not be detected by other
monitors. After successful trials,
and many requests. PulseGuard®
was released in November 2014.
PulseGuard®
is being used in both
the domestic and care home,
with PulseGuard Pro being a more
dedicated care home monitor, with
its ability to alert through Telecare
and Pager systems.

Epilepsy - Patients who suffer from ictal tachycardia or Ictal bradycardia at the onset or just
prior to a seizure. These patients will be alerted to seizure activity whether it is Tonic seizure
(silent with no movement) Tonic Clonic seizure (Shaking of limbs) or in some cases complex
partial seizures. This is approx. 95% of all patients who suffer from Epilepsy. For parents and
carers of those who suffer from nocturnal seizures. PulseGuard®
also alerts to any fall in the
heart rate (potentially in the onset of SUDEP)
Type 1 Diabetes - For many Diabetic patients, Hypoglycemia happens more commonly at
night when the body’s blood sugars naturally drop. By monitoring the heart rate continuously
at night and setting the parameters to suit each individual patient, as soon as the patient’s
heart rate starts to increase due to the onset of Hypoglycemia the alarm will trigger.
End of Life – For carers and nurses who are with patients, who are nearing the end of their
lives, PulseGuard®
can alert when the heart-rate drops below the set parameters, allowing
instant care when needed. With PulseGuard®
Pro, you will have instant alerts right to your
pager.
PoTS - the patient would have an early warning that they are about to suffer a PoTs attack as
soon as the heart rate starts to increase allowing them to move to a seated or lying position
until the heart rate has returned to normal ranges. It will also help prevent injury from patients
suddenly collapsing due to PoTs as they are unaware of the onset of the symptoms.
