CAMERA SHOTS

At the beginning of my trailer I faded in and out of mid-shots of the main characters
to give a clue to the audience what the storylines are about and what kind of
                            emotions are being portrayed.

This shows how the mise en scene is used in the sequence, such as jack having his
hood up and Katie crunched up, the relationship between each one of them and the
                           emotions that run through
The way in which I made it fade was, between the
cuts of each scene I would put a fader in and it
would slowly fade into the scene

I then also made it slow motion to make it
last longer and become more dramatic

Whilst zooming towards him, I then put another
fader into it, which made it flow straight into the
next scene (still in slow motion).
My trailer
             Two shots Coronation street

      POV over shoulder shot
Audience can be involved in what's going on and there isn't a fourth wall. They can also
see how the characters react and the emotions they display and be involved within the
conversation.
Working with sets
The settings were very important, especially
when trying to create a perfect scene for the
characters and to set the mood.

These two settings are important as it shows jack, who is a highly skilled business
man, evil business man, were he is in an office and obviously earns a lot of money. On
the other hand we show Aneesa in the phone booth, not only does this show the
other side to the conversation, but how Aneesa has nothing and can only afford to pay
for that and shows she must be in a lot of trouble
Inside and outside settings
Working outside was easier because we had Working inside was a lot more difficult
natural light and didn’t need any more to as we didn’t have that much light, but
work with. we stayed next to a large window
which cast in natural light, and just
turned on a light in the room to shine
                                                in.

For the inside we mainly used close
We could use any type of shot for outside but up shot and shot reverse shot, this
we mainly used shot reverse shot, long shot, is because its a lot more intense and
and two shot. shows that the audience are in
                                                  someone's home involved in there
                                                  conversations.
For the trailer I had to make it easy to follow and make the storylines clear for the
audience, so I made sure all the characters were involved and the major scenes.

These scenes had all the characters in it, portrayed the storyline and most of all
kept the audience interested and made them want to watch it.
Soap Opera institution

Whilst working on my soap opera I had to make an advert on the channel and include
one to the shots of when it starts on ITV so I used this one as a guide. The reason I put
my soap on ITV is because the gritty soaps are shown on there such as Coronation
street, so I decided to put mine on there to and it would be a popular program.

As you can see I kept to the main design of the actual one to ensure it looked as
realistic as it could. This helped as throughout my soap I had placed title cards
and the last one indicated the ITV1 branding.
NAMING MY SOAP
The reason I named my soap Flashing Lights is for mainly two
reasons

one: the song I chose
to play was Flashing
lights- Chase & Status,
and I made sure that at
the end of my trailer it
repeated the words
‘flashing lights flashing
lights…’ etc. this made
it so much more
effective and The second reason is because of the
memorable. main storyline about the Drug dealer
needing his money and going against
the law. The ‘flashing lights’ come into
play, as they symbolise police sirens
and lights and danger, as my soap has
quite a sad and dangerous main
storyline and I think it fits in really
                                                well.
As well as this, I will come back to my
point at the beginning about the time it
will be on and the tv guide.

I had to look at the demographic
side and looked at the possible
times it could be on. I chose to put it
on at the time coronation street is
      normally on, as the demographic
                would be at home from
                           school/work.

This is so they could watch it
 whilst eating tea/ having supper
