In the prelim task, the masthead covered one of the clone’s head, which made the front cover look unprofessional, also the photos on the right hand side covered most of the model. In the main task, I learned that positioning the masthead and photos correctly on the page made it look more professional as you could see the model and the photo properly.FRONT PAGE 1
I also learned that if there is one person in the front page photo, it makes a greater impact on the viewer as it isn’t crowded. Also if the model on the front page is looking straight at the camera, it makes it seem as if he is looking at the viewer, making it more personal. The editing for the main task photos got better from the prelim task as it is bright and colourful to get the viewer’s attention.FRONT PAGE 2
In the prelim task, the contents page had a few blank spaces in it which I didn't think were important to fill. However, in the main task, it looked as if something was missing when we left blank spaces, so I filled them with text about the band or artist. Also the font of ‘contents’ was a bit random for our prelim task, so in the main task I made sure it followed the house style of the magazine.CONTENTS PAGE
In our prelim task, we didn’t make a double page spread for our student magazine. However, making the front page and contents page for the prelim task had prepared me to go a step further for the main task. I learnt that it is important to maintain a house style and follow it throughout the magazine. We put in the colourful element that is present in the magazine and incorporated it in the band that we were writing about. We also added the colourful lines in the middle of the page so that a viewer can recognise that it is taken form our magazine.
