This document discusses the shift from quality of service (QoS) to quality of experience (QoE) in video delivery across networks, emphasizing the need for user-centered evaluation metrics. It examines major QoE metrics used for adaptive video streaming, particularly in the context of DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) and the impact of TCP mechanisms on user experience. The findings suggest significant challenges in video streaming performance that affect user satisfaction, highlighting the importance of integrating both objective and subjective measures in QoE research.
