This document proposes a reliable fault tolerance system (RFTSC) for service composition in mobile ad hoc networks. RFTSC uses checkpointing to recover from failures locally during service composition. It defines faults and fault policies at the node and service layers. A Multi-Service Tree (MST) is used to select alternative services to replace failed ones, achieving recovery in O(1) time complexity. The system includes components for service discovery, QoS evaluation, composition planning, checkpointing, execution monitoring, and failure recovery via the MST. Simulation results show the approach is more efficient than existing fault tolerance methods for service composition in MANETs.
