QR codes, or
Quick Response
Codes, are a
matrix style
barcode that
records data.
QR codes can be
scanned by a device
camera, and the data
read by a QR reader
program.
QR codes can hold many
types of data, including
web links, text, images, and
much more.
So how and
where do you
create QR codes?
There are tons
of free QR code
creators online.
Here are two of
my favorites.
QRstuff.com is a
great site for
making basic QR
codes. You can
even create them in
custom colors.
Visualead.com lets you get
fancier with your QR codes
and create them using
images.
You will see a preview on
the right hand side, as
well as your download
button. Once
downloaded, your QR
code is saved as an image
that you can embed in a
webpage, print in a
document, etc.
First, choose what
type of QR code you
want to create, then
enter your content.
Next, choose your
color.
First, choose your QR
code type and enter
your content. Then
click Generate QR
Code.
Next, you can upload an
image from your
computer, or choose
one from their
gallery. CLick the
More button at the
bottom of the gallery
for more choices.
Finally,
generate your
code, select
the FREE
option, and
download it to
your
computer.
Audioboo.
fm is a
tool that
lets you
record
your own
voice.
You can
then make
a QR code
that links
to your
Audioboo
file. In
addition
to
recording
on their
website,
they also
offer
apps for
Apple and
Android
devices.
QRvoice.net
lets you
type in
short
passages
of text, and
will read
them back
in an
electronic
voice.
Create
interactive
posters
with codes
linking to
videos or
websites
that
expand on
important
points.
Attach a PDF file to
a QR code! Upload
your PDF to Google
Drive, Dropbox, or
other file storage
website, then create
a QR code with the
link to the file.
