For our business, how can we :
Increase cost saving ?
Reduce errors ?
Achieve consistency in quality of products?
Increase customer satisfaction ?
A little
goes along way
• International Organization for Standardization.
• A word, derived from the Greek isos, meaning “equal”
• World's largest developer of international standards
• A network of the national standards institutes of 162
Countries.
• A series of frameworks that help you run your business
effectively
• A proof from a 3rd party body ,such as ourselves.
• A proof to your stakeholders, customers and staff that
you keep your promises
Whatever the country, the short form of the
organization's name is always ISO.
Definition
Is ISO right ?
• Do you want to increase your success in
tenders ?
• Are there areas of your business that could be
more efficient?
• Do you need to reduce costs?
• Would you like to reduce your insurance fees?
• Could your customer satisfaction levels be
improved?
• Do you find yourself (or your team) spending time
fixing non planned things plan rather
than planning for the future?
• Do you need to make your processes and
procedures more robust?

Standards

• Evaluates whether your Quality Management System
• Force you to identify and implement improvements.
• It does NOT matter what size your organization is
• It does NOT matter what industry you are in (Service or
manufacturing)
• It is NOT a product standard
• It does NOT define product quality.
• It is a process-based standard
• It is NOT a personal Standard
• It is NOT a membership group

ISO Importance
Useful tool to add credibility
Product or service meets the expectations of your
customers.
 A set framework in order to achieve its company
objectives.
Ensure a smooth line of communication between
employees, suppliers and customers at all times.
Many public and private sector tenders request ISO
certification as either a pre-requisite to moving to the
next stage or as a filter to remove companies from the
tender process.
ISO Process
1. Initial assessment of the company
2. Series of recommendations
3. Plan for implementing the recommendations
(completed over the next 6-12 months)
4. present the manual with the ISO certification
(6-8 weeks after the first initial assessment)
5. Regular basis to ensure that
(the company on track with the recommendations and
ready for re-certification year)
ISO Process
CELEBRATE THIS ACHIEVEMENT!!
Externally:
• Fly an ISO certified Flag on your buildings
• Display Banners at Trade Shows and Company
Events
• Company and product promotional materials
• Update your website
• Media releases
• Letterheads, Proposals, quotes, etc.
Internally:
• Decals on your stationery
• Banners in common work areas, etc.
Certificate Displaying
Remember, when labelling a product or system as
certified to an ISO standard:
Don't say: "ISO certified" or "ISO
certification"
DO say: "ISO 9001:2015 certified" or "ISO
9001:2015 certification" (for example).
Benefits to Organisation
Benefits to Customers
• Improved quality and service.
• Delivery on time.
• Right first time attitude.
• Fewer returned products and complaints.
• Independent audit demonstrates commitment to
quality.
ISO Certification Negatives
• Business only for money.
• Documentation what nobody read.
• No demonstrable results.
• Introduction of formal activities.
• Wasted work time workers.
• Auditor, which does not help us.
