This document presents a novel algorithm for real-time detection of fatal ventricular dysrhythmias (ventricular fibrillation and rapid ventricular tachycardia) in automated external defibrillators (AEDs) using critical points of ECG signals. The algorithm demonstrated high sensitivity (95.87%), specificity (99.00%), and accuracy (98.78%) in single diagnosis mode, making it suitable for implementation in AEDs. With robust performance tested against various databases, the proposed method aims to effectively balance accuracy and timely responses in emergency situations.
