To Whom it May Concern:
Although I am a Professor and Doctoral Director at the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz
Graduate School of Business, I have been teaching summer courses at Harvard University since
2009. Therefore, even with a Pitt letterhead, this letter pertains to a Harvard student.
Mansi Jain was an excellent student in my Human Factors in Information Systems Design class
at Harvard during the summer of 2015. Not only did she receive an “A-” in the course, but she
achieved a 93.8% average in the course, and in spite of difficult competition she ranked in the
top half of the class. What is notable is that this particular class was without question the
strongest I’ve ever experienced in my five years of teaching this particular course. In a typical
year, she would have likely finished in the top 20% of the students in the course.
To illustrate the strength of the entire class, one student who was trying to hire UX designers
said that she would hire any of the students in the entire class.
The course involved many assignments, including team and individual projects. It is difficult for
some students to keep up, but Mansi had no problem doing so. She completed all assignments
on time, without any excuses. She also had perfect attendance in the course and perfect scores
on all individual assignments.
If you have any questions about Mansi, please do not hesitate to email or call me.
Sincerely,
Dennis Galletta

Director, Katz Graduate School of Business Doctoral Program; and
Adjunct, Summer Program in IS Management, Harvard University
