Reflection
In the next generation of teaching, students will need to be
nurtured through a pathway of thinking. Stated Clark (2011)
what you think and the nature of thinking will be affected by
the Internet. Teachers need to consider the information
students learn through the Internet. This may alter their
thinking process and problem-solving skills. The author
implies that surfing the Internet is a skill and skills alter the
brain (Clark, 2011). Therefore strategies need to be explicitly
taught such as questioning, searching, communication and
evaluating. The article suggests that more scientific research
is needed to define the impact of the Internet and the way we
   think.

Boroditsky (2011) implies the Internet will eventually not be
seen as separate technology but as a natural extension of
ourselves. Technology has been shaping us for as long as we
have been making it. This tells us that teachers need to
facilitate different types of engagement with different types of
tools to develop children’s brains. Research in the last decade
has shown that our brain changes, grows and adapts
dramatically as we engage with the world in new ways
(Boroditsky, 2011). Boroditsky (2011) states more than
shaping how I think, the Internet is also shaping how I think
about how I think. Research findings from Bransford et.al
(2000) support this theory by stating that the teaching of
metacognitive skills should be integrated into the curriculum in
   a variety of subject areas.

The comparison between both articles concluded that more
scientific research is needed to clearly define the impact of the
