The Arab region faces significant challenges related to its large youth population, including high youth unemployment rates, especially among young women. Over half of the Arab population is under 25 years old, placing pressure on governments to address youth needs. While access to education has increased, unemployment remains a major issue due to a mismatch between the skills youth obtain and market demands. Health issues also impact Arab youth, including lack of knowledge about sexual health and risky behaviors like substance abuse. Governments are working to develop youth policies to foster human capital and provide opportunities, but more can still be done to support Arab youth.
