Release Grades In D2 L
- 1. Let's say you want your students to know how they're doing at some point in your class. You can release the final grade at any time by following this procedure. Keep in mind that you will need to update (recalculate) the grades each time you want to release them. You have to go into the final grade column in the gradebook and click the at the top of the column (See fig 2 below) and then select the student you want to release the final grade to. Then it will show up at the top of the student's gradebook and look like this: (FIG1) Note that in FIG1, the student is seeing their grade as low so far because the majority of the assignments have not been recorded yet by the instructor and the instructor has the settings so that all ungraded items are treated as zeros. The only 2 assignments that have been recorded here are Homeworks 1 and 2. In the following example FIG2, the ungraded items are dropped from the calculation. As you can see, a much better grade is reflected, and the student has a much better idea of how they are doing in your class.
- 2. (FIG2) So what do we do to get the final grade calculation to show? In the FIG3 example below, you can see (2) that both John Adams and Abraham Lincoln have the eye icon. This means that they were released. To release the final grades to students, simply click (1) on the icon to be able to select who gets to see the final grade calc. If you have “Adusted” final grade set in your options, then they will only see the final adjusted grade, which you must enter in order for your students to see it.
