- 2. Report A report is a structured form of communication through which different stakeholders are inform with their require information. For example – a medical report is prepared by a diagnostic center what will be created according to the require information for the ultimate result. Here the stakeholders are the final users of the report. The final users are Doctors who suggest to do those tests, the patients who will prescribed by doctors based on the test reports and the pharmacy shops who sell the medicines based on the test reports. Based on the objectives of a report it can be three (3) types – 1. Exploratory Report. 2. Descriptive Report. 3. Causal Report. 1. Exploratory Report: Exploratory reports are investigative in nature it identifies or explores into different events, situations & occasions to know the unknown fuzzy issues. The outcome of exploratory report helps manages to understand a complex situation. (a) Search or inquiry – (about a lost thing. starts with a small clue.) (b) Investigation – (to reach a final conclusion with help of full information or detailed report to find a particular result) Characteristics of Exploratory Report: 1. Importance of the report: Unless the issue has a place in the report to add particular value, its study will be ineffective and worthless. 2. Practical Element: It needs to have practical value and element in the report. If it does not have any practical value and element it will be a meaningless report. 3. Combinations of Theory: Practical importance of the report has no meaning unless it is in accordance with theory. If a specific problem is in accordance with certain theoretical aspects it will be easy for the researcher to assess its utility or move forward with his study in the right direction. 4. Dependable and Useful Facts: In the absence of trustworthy and valuable facts, the study of the problem will have no managerial significance. a b
- 3. 2. Descriptive Report: Descriptive reports are triggered by exploratory reports. More elaborately exploratory report create concepts, theories and propositions. Descriptive report uses these concepts, theories and propositions to reach a temporary decision for assessing managers in their planning and decision making. Characteristics of Descriptive Report: 1. Identification: contains the identification of matter / a will be described. 2. Description: contains the explanation / description of the thing. 3. Language Features: Introducing group or general aspect. Using conditional logical connection. Using simple present tense. 4. General classification: Stating classification of general aspect of report; which will be discussed in general. 5. Description: Describing the thing which will be discussed in detail part by part, customs or deed for living creature and usage for materials. 6. Orientation: In this section is the introduction of the characters, the story takes place or time. 3. Causal Report. Causal report studies the cause and effect relationship between and among anticipated things, identifies the effect of that relationship and checks the possibilities of general implications of identified results. Characteristics of Causal Report: 1. Causal report seeks to identify associations among variables. 2. Causal report attempts to determine the cause or consequences of differences that already exist between individuals or among groups. 3. The basic causal report approach is to begin with a noted difference between two groups and then to look for possible causes for, or consequences of, this difference. 4. There are three types of causal report (exploration of effects, exploration of causes, exploration of consequences), which differentiate their purposes and structure. 5. As in between individuals or among group studies, relationships can be identified in causal report study, but causation cannot be fully established.
- 4. Conclusion: Here we did the assignment with help of our couse teacher and his highly skillfully lectures what gave us inspiration to create the assignment. We also use internet to create the assignment. We have learned new things as charactesitics of all types of report and its related things.
