Research and development (R&D) is a process used to develop and validate educational products. It aims to find new knowledge through basic research and answer practical problems through applied research. The R&D process consists of studying research findings, developing a product based on those findings, field testing the product where it will be used, and revising it based on feedback. Borg and Gall's 1989 model of R&D is a longitudinal process that seeks to find, develop, and validate educational products.
