Crossmark aims to help inform authors, editors, and readers about retractions and expressions of concern through integration with research integrity databases, but it has not been fully adopted by all journals. While a DOI can be used for a retraction notice, editors are responsible for retracting information from the research record. The discussion proposed developing alert methods for readers to easily find retraction information through services like Crossmark.
