Malaysia has launched a government-run RFID-enabled livestock tracking program, marking it as the first Asian country to do so, with 80,000 cattle receiving RFID ear tags in the initial phase. The technology enhances livestock management by automating data collection and improving animal health monitoring, ultimately enabling quicker and more accurate decision-making. Additionally, RFID facilitates benefits such as fraud prevention in cattle insurance and efficient identification during disease outbreaks or food recalls.
