MAKINGTHE RIGHT CHOICE
By Rhys Abel
WHAT IS PEER PRESSURE?
Peer pressure is an influence from
members of one's peer group.
Peer pressure happens all around
us but mostly in teens.
Peer pressure can have negative or
positive effects depending on the
situation.
An example of peer pressure is
insisting someone to try a cigaret
like in the picture to the righ.
PEER PRESSURE WITH DRUGS
Sometimes teens will get pressured by friends or peer into doing
drugs.
The reasons mostly that this happens is for example “Hey man you
need to try this if you want to hang out with us”.Teens get pressured
into trying harmful substances.
Teens will also try drugs because there friends are trying it and they
may recommend it to them.
In harsh cases sometimes even the parents could be doing drugs or
have done them in the past making a bad influence for them.
PEER PRESSURE ON ALCOHOL
Teens can quite by accident use alcohol for a not a bad reason
like at a party for example but then could be in a car accident or
inflict bad things upon themselves when they are not sober.
Teens sometimes could use alcohol to escape stress or peers
recommend it to them.
Occasionally they are just curious and try it.
Sometimes teens may think it is fun to try it.
PEER PRESSURE ON SEX
Teenager could feel the pressure into having sex because there friends
or peers are doing it.
Teens may feel uncomfortable with themselves if they don’t have sex.
Peers may tell them that it is “Fun” and think that it is the right choice
for them and do it.
Sometimes there partners may pressure the other partner into doing
in against there will.
