• #2: Good Mornin   I am excited about 2 Big milestones we will be celebrating 10/5   Proud of all of our accomplishments   I’ve always said Hadoop is too Big for 1 company; requires Ecosystem & Community   So congrats to all of us and what we have accomplished   Because of our collective work, the success of hadoop has enabled a ‘Data Revolution’.   And this will change the fundamental way every industry works and how every line of business interacts with their customers, products and supply chains for the next 20 years.   It will even change the fundamental way our lives work from: How we Shop How our Healthcare is provided How financial transactions are processed How our Transportation Functions How we interact with the Media and it with Us   What you are seeing now…and it will become the norm… is: the Products we use everyday, from the cars we drive, to our athletic gear will be monitored so we can better understand how well these products are performing, and how satisfied the customers are.   This will create Very large … New Economies that generate Billions of $ of New Value ….   And because of this you will see more industry transformations in the next 5-7 years than have been created in the last 50.   The world is changing because of the data and what we can do with it.  
• #3: What we are seeing now .. is: Data is Transforming the Enterprise: and this is happening across every Industry.   Many Enterprises are already Generating massive value from their Modern Data Strategies.   From my perspective, the Reason we are seeing this ‘Data Revolution’ happen so Fast is: The global acceleration of Billions of connected Devices that are coming online every year – and - Our Expectation to have instant Access to Relevant Content at any point in time .. (AT&T Cell Tower With Cars example) And at the core of this data revolution, is the value from the data coming from all these devices. The reality is .. Enterprises must adapt their business models or become irrelevant.  
• #4: The ‘data revolution’ I just mentioned is creating a new world of business. This is because we have learned how to gain insight from: What customers want pre-transaction How products are performing in real time And, what the Customer engagement and usage patterns are during the entire relationship lifecycle.   And the reason this is important is because: It will help companies build new and better products faster Create a more productive relationship between a business, and its customers and partners And .. Ultimately it will drive faster time to value for everyone.   Over the next several days you’ll have the opportunity to learn from many of our customers and partners on what they are doing to achieve value from data.  
• #5: But you also must realize that may enterprises are just starting their journey to the modern data architecture and have to manage the constraints of their traditional data mgmt. platforms.   The reality is: we are going to have to transition from the traditional models of managing data to a modern data architecture through a very measured set of steps.   First we have to realize that traditional data is largely structured, reasonably predictable, and batch oriented.  
• #6: And this creates limitations on how the business can take advantage of data, because it is often too expensive, and too late to make a meaningful impact.

• #9: Successful Enterprises are now enabling an Environment that: Leverages ALL of the Data irrespective of where it lives Edge/Device/In or Across multiple Clouds or On Prem (in the data center)   By Bringing ALL the Data Together from ALL the Sources in a Seamless Modern Architecture .. We can: Have insights about our Customers, Products, trading Partners & Supply Chains in a way we have never been able to accomplish before.   And the reality is:   In the New World ……… Data is Everywhere: ==Edge/Devices/Cloud/Data Center   We believe the Modern Data Architecture is about having connected data platforms that bring ALL Data together seamlessly   In the new world of Connected Data Platforms: You Can bring the Analytics to the Data Enable Dynamic processes to Start and Execute as events happen and Conditions Change Easily onboard new data sources and devices .. instant value Thru Machine learning: Continuously optimize your business processes. This fundamentally changes how the Enterprise functions across Every LOB in every industry.   This new world of Connected Data Platforms will generate many Trillions of $$$ of value as the Enterprise Transitions their Traditional Data Mgt architectures and begin to Leverage a Connected Data Platform strategy as the core of their Business.
