What are Robots in RadioActive Environments?
The Robots are developed to minimize the human effort and they
increase the quality of work, They are used in many fields such as
environment, They present in the nuclear power plants,The
radiations are very harmful to the human beings, even leading to the
deaths.

Robots in RadioActive Environments.
The Robot is the programmable multi-functional manipulator designed
to move the materials, the parts & the tools through the variable
programmed motion of the performance of many tasks, The robots
may not injure the human and they must obey the orders given to
them by the human beings.
NEED FOR ROBOTS IN RADIOACTIVE ENVIRONMENT
➔ The Needs of Robots
➔ Some regular repair and maintenance activities at nuclear power plants involve risks of
contamination and irradiation.
➔ It causes so much of Radiation for Humans.
➔ Most tasks at nuclear facilities are carried out by in house maintenance specialists.
➔ They are few in number and in many cases, require several years of experience and
extensive training programs.
➔ The number of hours that they can work continuously is limited by national international
regulations regarding the maximum dose that may be received by exposed professional
workers.
➔ The robots are developed to minimize the human effort and they increase the quality of work.
➔ Radioactive environment is mainly encountered in nuclear power plants.

Steam Generators use U bent tubes.
U bent tubes in WSG made using inconel alloy to ensure High thermal efficiency of
heat exchanger.
Maintenance jobs during plant refueling are complex.

● The Robots are developed to be used in the areas inaccessible to the human beings.
● They reduce the strain of the humans and they are also cheaper than the skilled
workers in long run and the radioactive environment causes high energy radiations.
● They can face the radiations and its consequences where as human being cannot
face the radiations.
● It is very useful to use the robots in such environments.
Advantages
Disadvantages
● Highly Expensive Robots.
● The industries prefer utilizing the robots than the human workers, So, the
unemployment rate will increase.
● The Robots can produce lots of electronic wastes, They can not do something
which they do not design to do and they make the people lazy.
● They may also get heated up because of over work and get blasted in crowdy
areas which is harmful to human beings..
