What is the STaR Chart? Measures progress toward meeting goals of the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology Reviews progress at campus and district levels Source of data is surveys by teachers
What’s Inside? Evaluation in four areas: Teaching and Learning Educator Preparation and Development Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support Infrastructure for Technology
How Do You Use It? Determine professional development needs Provide accurate data Information is gained and documented Determine funding based on identified needs Provide data support needed for grants and other resources Help conceptualize a vision of technology
SLAS Results Annual progress in every area from 2006 to 2009 Early stages of development All four areas “Early in 2006-2007” and all have improved to “Developing” and improves scores in subsequent years
Suggestions Let’s all take ownership Take opportunities to develop (professionally, that is) Share knowledge and work together Keep equipment working well Take advantage of the resources we have Work to develop a shared vision and live up to it!
