LONG-RANGE PLAN FOR TECHNOLOGY The new Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020 charts the course for educational technology in Texas and provides recommendations to various stakeholders in the areas of Teaching and Learning; Educator Preparation and Development; Leadership, Administration, and Instructional Support; and Infrastructure for Technology Educators can expect to access and use student information on demand in order to individualize instruction. The use of digital tools and resources and 24/7 professional development opportunities transform the educators’ role in the educational process. - 3. School Technology and Readiness. A Teacher Tool for Planning and Self- Assessing aligned with the Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020. The Texas Teacher STaR Chart has been developed around the four key areas of the Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020: Teaching and Learning; Educator Preparation and Development; Leadership, Administration and Instructional Support; and Infrastructure for Technology. The Texas Teacher STaR Chart is designed to help teachers, campuses, and districts determine their progress toward meeting the goals of the Long- Range Plan for Technology, as well as meeting the goals of their district. The Texas Teacher STaR Chart can assist in the measurement of the impact of state and local efforts to improve student learning through the use of technology as specified in No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D. Summary Area Key Area Totals STaR Classifications Trends 2010-11: 18 2010-11:Advanced Tech There has been a significant Teaching & Learning increase in the usage of 2009-10: 14 2009-10:Developing Tech technology in the classroom by 2008-09: 14 2008-09:Developing Tech teachers and students. 2010-11: 15 2010-11:Advanced Tech Professional development at my Educator Preparation & school has focused on utilizing Development 2009-10: 14 2009-10:Developing Tech technology in the classroom the 2008-09: 13 2008-09:Developing Tech past couple of years. Our leadership uses many 2010-11: 20 2010-11:Advanced Tech different forms of technology to Leadership, Administration, & communicate with all Instructional Support 2009-10: 21 2009-10:Target Tech stakeholders. They are role 2008-09: 18 2008-09:Advanced Tech models for our school in utilizing the latest technology. The infrastructure for technology has been steadily improving the 2010-11:20 2010-11:Advanced Tech past three years. Our Infrastructure for Technology 2009-10:19 2009-10:Advanced Tech administration built a solid infrastructure for technology 2008-09: 17 2008-09:Advanced Tech within our school so there is very little that needs to be changed.
