Introduction
Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business that taking on
greater than normal financial risks. Entrepreneur are the people that is willing to bear the
risk of a new venture if there is a good chance to grab the maximum profits. Every
entrepreneur has different entrepreneurial skills and personal qualities. Entrepreneurs are
the people that brings up the economy of a country by bringing wealth to the economy.
Entrepreneurship is one of the money making industry that can earn lots of money
whether it’s in or out, entrepreneurs are also generator of the country’s economy so called
backbone of the country. Entrepreneurship helps to create more job opportunity for others
to minimize the poverty rate. Therefore, citizen within that country can live a better life.
Other than that, Entrepreneurs also help to inspire young blood to engage in the world of
business, so that more young talent can help building the economy. This world is still
waiting for more creative young entrepreneurs to create a future that is better than
yesterday. Entrepreneurs are also the one that create a beautiful country that is full of life,
meaning filling every blank space with construction project and making a town lively by
having more busy people walking around doing business. Also, Entrepreneurs helps to
form a network around the community so that people can learn from each other to improve
on each other’s idea, in order to improve the economy.
TASK 1 (A)
Proactive
Proactive is one of the characteristics of all success entrepreneur. A proactive
entrepreneur will be controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than
responding to it after it has happened. In the West, the researcher has found that
proactive behavior consists of taking charge, aggressive the voice out idea and influence.
(Grant, Gino, and Hofmann, p. 535).
Robert Kuok is one of the entrepreneur success builds his business empires
because of his proactive personality. Robert Kuok involves in various business include
sugar, plantations, flour milling, animal feed, finance, properties, trading and freight. His
asset worth $11.2 Billion according to Forbes. He had been given a name as Asian Sugar
King and Asian Hotel King. He creates Shangri-La Hotel group and successfully enlarge
his hotel business to other 16 countries in worldwide and become Asia-Pacific’s largest
hotel group. He also an owner of Wilmar international group, one of the world’s largest
agro-processing group. Furthermore, Kerry groups in Hong Kong also belong to Robert
Kuok.
Kuok was work for Mitsubishi when the Japanese occupation of Malaysia and
Singapore and he learned Japanese in there. So, he becomes an important supplier of
basic foodstuffs. From the war, Kuok also realized heavy competition and low margins
are already made the rice trade become unattractive. Kuok starts to change his target to
the sugar trade and moved to England. England is the place he learned about the
commodities markets before he returning to Malaysia. So, this proves again Kuok is
talented in identification and exploitation of opportunities and in taking preemptory actions
against potential problem and threats. After Malaysia's independence in 1957,
relationship build by himself enabled he to build a true sugar empire and in 1959, Kuok
entered sugar refining as well and give a name as the "Sugar King," controlling as much
as 10 percent of the world's sugar supply.
Starting point of Shangri-La hotel chain was when Kuok purchases a hotel property
in Singapore. Which is built in 1971 to launching the Shangri-La brand, Kuok founded a
new company for its hotel interests, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, in 1982. In 1984, the
company opened its first hotel on the Chinese mainland, in Hangzhou, on the eastern
coast, becoming a pioneer in the country's virtually non-existent luxury hotel market. The
company's choice of that market also revealed its ability to plan for the long term. Rather
than simply target China's major and most well-known markets, such as Beijing and
Shanghai, Shangri-La saw potential in developing its position in lesser-known and smaller
cities. Many of these cities have populations of five million or more and represented
important industrial growth areas. In 1989, Shangri-La launched a second hotel brand in
Beijing. Called Traders, the new hotel chain gave the company a mid-range brand to a
creation of a bridge level between the four-star and five-star hotel grades and targeting
locations with no luxury hotels. Introducing Traders is for paving the way for the entry of
its Shangri-La brand. By the end of the decade, Shangri-La's portfolio had grown to 39
properties, including 17 hotels in operation or under development in China alone. Indeed,
the company's early focus on the mainland Chinese market helped shield it from the worst
of the Asian economic crisis in the half of the 1990s, from which China emerged relatively
unscathed. The company's strategy of investing in relatively unknown areas of the
mainland also had placed it in a strong position to profit from the surge in China's industrial
sector and from the country's fast-growing economy in general at the dawn of the 21st
century. Shangri-La also had begun developing its interests beyond the Asian region and
build its portfolio to more than 100 hotels in Asian-Pacific.
As a conclusion, Robert Kuok’s proactive characteristics successfully help him
become ready when something happen. From the Robert Kuok’s story, noticed that try to
prevent problems from ever arising with tackling possible failings in advance is very
important. The succeed entrepreneur always get into the habit of taking precautions and
developing fallback plans.
Open risk taker
Open risk taker is a person who have the courage to take risk based on their own decision.
This is like a genes to every successful entrepreneur in order to success. An entrepreneur
would not be success if they did not dare to make decision to make a step towards risk.
One of the successful entrepreneur who has this traits are Jack Ma (English) as known
as Ma Yun (Chinese), who is the founder and chairman of Alibaba group. People have
heard lots about Jack Ma because of his inspiring story about how he make his way to be
success. Based on what was written in Business Insider (2015), one of the action actually
shows that Jack Ma is an open risk taker. In 1995, when jack ma first discovered about
the Internet he decided to open an internet business, during this year he actually faces
hardship due to unable to find customer and get help from government.
As time passes, he still does not give up in year 1999, he then invited 17 friends
into his house to set up their own online market and name it Alibaba. Suddenly, the
internet become a hotspot and then by October 1999 Alibaba has raised to 25 million
from few company. We can conclude that Jack Ma is really an open risk taker for having
the courage to enter the internet market without having enough knowledge about IT, also
he take risk on spending time even though his market does not work out for the past year
and also there is no customer that buy their services during those year before 1999.
Observant
Observant is used to describe a person who always pay close attention or a person who
knows every single detail about something. Most entrepreneurs are required to be
observant towards the job they are doing in order to success.
One of the leader that shows this traits are Howard Schultz, 62, from New York
who is the chairman and CEO of Starbucks Corp. When Schultz was still young, his family
faces a lot financial problem after his father held a variety of job while his mother was a
receptionist. His father, then, are unable to work because his ankle was broken and so
this lead Schultz’s family to a poor condition. Schultz was determined to have a better life,
Schultz is so determined that he has earned himself an athletic scholarship to the
Northern Michigan University by performing well in sports during his high school time.
After Schultz graduated, immediately he get a place to work in a company name Xerox
Corp. Later on, Schultz was hired by a housewares company name Perstorp AB and held
the position of vice president and general manager of that company. Then, later on
Schultz went on a research about the company that bought espresso machine from his
company and discovered a coffee shop that sold fresh espresso coffees that is only
available in Seattle.
Schultz was then invited by Gerald Baldwin and Gordon Bawker to join their
company because of they were impressed by the spirit and knowledge of business that
Schultz had. Before he run the business, Schultz start idea of opening a coffee bar in
Italy, this idea came from his experience during his trip in Italy, when he was observing
the Italian’s social life. His idea was then rejected by Baldwin and Bowker as they were
not willing to expand the business. Later on, Schultz manage to bought up Starbucks after
knowing Baldwin and Bowker wanted to sold out their outlet, then Schultz start to overhaul
the company with his idea that he has during his vacation in Italy.
All people knows that Howard Schultz is a successful business man that raise the
name of Starbucks, and as a successful man for sure he would have some traits that we
may notice during his struggle. One of the trait that is shown by Schultz is that he is an
open risk taker, an open risk taker is a person who is brave and willing to take risk.
Schultz was an open risk taker because he is brave to take risk in order to become
successful. For instance, Taken from Entrepreneur (2008), Schultz once open an
espresso café and name it II Giornale(The Daily) before he fully bought up Starbucks.
During this time, he wish that he could expand his business by opening more outlet
everywhere but due to lack of funding he could not expand a lot. But, things change after
he knows that Baldwin and Bowker wanted to sell out their outlets for 3.8million dollars,
Schultz began to find investors so he can bought up Starbucks. Based on the statement,
we can conclude that Schultz is an open risk taker as he is able to show us that he dare
to take the risk to bought up Starbucks company knowing that if he fail to manage the
business he will be in debt of 3.8million dollars.
Next, on the route to become success Howard Schultz also has one of the
characteristic which is observant, a person who has the characteristic of observant tend
to pay attention to every detail. Schultz has this characteristic because he pays attention
to everything that is related to business. Schultz pay extra attention everytime when he
is onto something he interested. For instance, when he was working in Perstorp AB
company, Schultz was curious about which company that bought a lot of his company’s
espresso machine and then he start doing his investigation on this company by visiting
the company’s place in Seattle. Even when Schultz was on vacation in Italy he also
observe well around the culture of Italy. Other than that, he also make sure that he know
every detail about what’s going on inside his company but most of the time he actually
pay full attention to everything he does (Entrepreneur,2008). Based on these evidence
we can conclude that Schultz has the characteristics observant because he was able to
pay attention to every details that he face.
Besides, on the route to become a successful entrepreneur also has one of these
characteristics, which is visionary. A visionary entrepreneur has a picture in their mind, a
clear and specific vision of the future. Howard Schultz has the characteristic of visionary
because he had set the vision for his company. Starbucks’s vision is “to establish
Starbucks as the premier purveyor of the finest coffee in the world while
maintaining our uncompromising principles while we grow”. Today, Starbucks has
achieved their vision which is being a premier purveyor because Starbucks has become
one of the largest coffee companies in the food and beverages world. Starbucks now has
more than 22,500 outlets around the world and it has fulfilled the vision of
growth(GREGORY, 2015). Based on the statement, we can conclude that Howard
Schultz is a visionary entrepreneur because he has a clear idea and he has the vision of
what should be done in the future in order to improve.
Team oriented
Team oriented describes a person who are selfless. A team oriented person include
others opinion before making a decision. Also, everyone will be included no matter the
project is big or not. In team oriented, no people are superior than the others and in team
oriented everyone is on the same level. Every big company needs a team oriented people
in order to expand the company’s business. For instance, one of the company that is team
oriented will be the famous searching site Google. Google is an online web search engine
that is founded by Larry Page and Sergey Bin. Based on Huffington post (2015), Google
is a team oriented company because it need lots of people on different department, and
Google are hiring people every day and year in search for better employee that has better
conditions to improve the company performance. Everyone in the company can suggest
their idea in order to improve Google.
Other than that, Page and Bin has always been using the concept of treating the
staff good equals to having more user, they believe if you give the staff more free time
then they will start to do great stuff. Google provides their staff with every single thing a
person needs daily such as car, food, shelter, sleep and etc. Based on what the online
article wrote about Google, we can agree that the idea of Page and Bin is really all for the
sake of staff flexibility although they are the person who is earning.
Visionary
Visionary is a person who has a clear picture about what should happen or done in future
or a person can see what something could be long before it actually happens. Each
entrepreneur must have the vision to be achieved by the objectives formulated. An
entrepreneur who have the vision to have a good plan. They will set goals in either the
long term or the short term. In addition, entrepreneurs also have to know what needed to
be achieved but not all entrepreneurs have a vision at the beginning of the opening of the
firm. They will set the vision, realizing what had happened to the firm itself. This can make
it easier for them to become successful entrepreneurs as a strategic planning and high
competitiveness.

felt unhappy, he resigned and decided to chase his dreams and start his own business.
As Loo say:” To have dreams and discover their interests in life. Young entrepreneurs
must have a clear idea of what their dreams are about. Dreams with visions should be
able to show and control them to where they want to be. It should fuel them with the
passion and fire to begin a startup business of any kind. In addition, their interests will
help them identify the kind of business that they will like to work in.
Besides that, with an aim to look for an F&B business that requires only an
automated process to control quality. Loo started doing research on the industry by
visiting different trade expos with his father in Taiwan although he had no previous
working background in the F&B industry. Then, Loo saw a gap in the beverage industry,
at that time the coffee market like Starbucks was the trend. He identifies that “There were
no real tea beverages offered to the middle-low range target market. Of course not at all
these business wasn’t smooth sailing initially and Loo was rejected by many top brands
as none of them were keen to expand their business in Malaysia. Nonetheless, he keeps
going to look for potential partners. Finally, he made contact with the director of Chatime,
Henry who had a global mindset and was willing to work with Loo to expand Chatime.
Then, Loo answered that he sold a vision when asked how he convinced the director
despite being a nobody couple of years back.
Nowadays, Chatime has expanded to more than 100 outlets all over Malaysia. It
is also the favorites bubble milk tea brand among Malaysians and Chatime has created
many wonderful memories especially among the Generation Y, which can be very
obvious in their postings with a cup of Chatime Pearl Milk Tea in their hands on Facebook

  • 4. Introduction Entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business that taking on greater than normal financial risks. Entrepreneur are the people that is willing to bear the risk of a new venture if there is a good chance to grab the maximum profits. Every entrepreneur has different entrepreneurial skills and personal qualities. Entrepreneurs are the people that brings up the economy of a country by bringing wealth to the economy. Entrepreneurship is one of the money making industry that can earn lots of money whether it’s in or out, entrepreneurs are also generator of the country’s economy so called backbone of the country. Entrepreneurship helps to create more job opportunity for others to minimize the poverty rate. Therefore, citizen within that country can live a better life. Other than that, Entrepreneurs also help to inspire young blood to engage in the world of business, so that more young talent can help building the economy. This world is still waiting for more creative young entrepreneurs to create a future that is better than yesterday. Entrepreneurs are also the one that create a beautiful country that is full of life, meaning filling every blank space with construction project and making a town lively by having more busy people walking around doing business. Also, Entrepreneurs helps to form a network around the community so that people can learn from each other to improve on each other’s idea, in order to improve the economy.
  • 5. TASK 1 (A) Proactive Proactive is one of the characteristics of all success entrepreneur. A proactive entrepreneur will be controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than responding to it after it has happened. In the West, the researcher has found that proactive behavior consists of taking charge, aggressive the voice out idea and influence. (Grant, Gino, and Hofmann, p. 535). Robert Kuok is one of the entrepreneur success builds his business empires because of his proactive personality. Robert Kuok involves in various business include sugar, plantations, flour milling, animal feed, finance, properties, trading and freight. His asset worth $11.2 Billion according to Forbes. He had been given a name as Asian Sugar King and Asian Hotel King. He creates Shangri-La Hotel group and successfully enlarge his hotel business to other 16 countries in worldwide and become Asia-Pacific’s largest hotel group. He also an owner of Wilmar international group, one of the world’s largest agro-processing group. Furthermore, Kerry groups in Hong Kong also belong to Robert Kuok. Kuok was work for Mitsubishi when the Japanese occupation of Malaysia and Singapore and he learned Japanese in there. So, he becomes an important supplier of basic foodstuffs. From the war, Kuok also realized heavy competition and low margins are already made the rice trade become unattractive. Kuok starts to change his target to the sugar trade and moved to England. England is the place he learned about the commodities markets before he returning to Malaysia. So, this proves again Kuok is talented in identification and exploitation of opportunities and in taking preemptory actions against potential problem and threats. After Malaysia's independence in 1957, relationship build by himself enabled he to build a true sugar empire and in 1959, Kuok entered sugar refining as well and give a name as the "Sugar King," controlling as much as 10 percent of the world's sugar supply. Starting point of Shangri-La hotel chain was when Kuok purchases a hotel property in Singapore. Which is built in 1971 to launching the Shangri-La brand, Kuok founded a
  • 6. new company for its hotel interests, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, in 1982. In 1984, the company opened its first hotel on the Chinese mainland, in Hangzhou, on the eastern coast, becoming a pioneer in the country's virtually non-existent luxury hotel market. The company's choice of that market also revealed its ability to plan for the long term. Rather than simply target China's major and most well-known markets, such as Beijing and Shanghai, Shangri-La saw potential in developing its position in lesser-known and smaller cities. Many of these cities have populations of five million or more and represented important industrial growth areas. In 1989, Shangri-La launched a second hotel brand in Beijing. Called Traders, the new hotel chain gave the company a mid-range brand to a creation of a bridge level between the four-star and five-star hotel grades and targeting locations with no luxury hotels. Introducing Traders is for paving the way for the entry of its Shangri-La brand. By the end of the decade, Shangri-La's portfolio had grown to 39 properties, including 17 hotels in operation or under development in China alone. Indeed, the company's early focus on the mainland Chinese market helped shield it from the worst of the Asian economic crisis in the half of the 1990s, from which China emerged relatively unscathed. The company's strategy of investing in relatively unknown areas of the mainland also had placed it in a strong position to profit from the surge in China's industrial sector and from the country's fast-growing economy in general at the dawn of the 21st century. Shangri-La also had begun developing its interests beyond the Asian region and build its portfolio to more than 100 hotels in Asian-Pacific. As a conclusion, Robert Kuok’s proactive characteristics successfully help him become ready when something happen. From the Robert Kuok’s story, noticed that try to prevent problems from ever arising with tackling possible failings in advance is very important. The succeed entrepreneur always get into the habit of taking precautions and developing fallback plans.
  • 7. Open risk taker Open risk taker is a person who have the courage to take risk based on their own decision. This is like a genes to every successful entrepreneur in order to success. An entrepreneur would not be success if they did not dare to make decision to make a step towards risk. One of the successful entrepreneur who has this traits are Jack Ma (English) as known as Ma Yun (Chinese), who is the founder and chairman of Alibaba group. People have heard lots about Jack Ma because of his inspiring story about how he make his way to be success. Based on what was written in Business Insider (2015), one of the action actually shows that Jack Ma is an open risk taker. In 1995, when jack ma first discovered about the Internet he decided to open an internet business, during this year he actually faces hardship due to unable to find customer and get help from government. As time passes, he still does not give up in year 1999, he then invited 17 friends into his house to set up their own online market and name it Alibaba. Suddenly, the internet become a hotspot and then by October 1999 Alibaba has raised to 25 million from few company. We can conclude that Jack Ma is really an open risk taker for having the courage to enter the internet market without having enough knowledge about IT, also he take risk on spending time even though his market does not work out for the past year and also there is no customer that buy their services during those year before 1999.
  • 8. Observant Observant is used to describe a person who always pay close attention or a person who knows every single detail about something. Most entrepreneurs are required to be observant towards the job they are doing in order to success. One of the leader that shows this traits are Howard Schultz, 62, from New York who is the chairman and CEO of Starbucks Corp. When Schultz was still young, his family faces a lot financial problem after his father held a variety of job while his mother was a receptionist. His father, then, are unable to work because his ankle was broken and so this lead Schultz’s family to a poor condition. Schultz was determined to have a better life, Schultz is so determined that he has earned himself an athletic scholarship to the Northern Michigan University by performing well in sports during his high school time. After Schultz graduated, immediately he get a place to work in a company name Xerox Corp. Later on, Schultz was hired by a housewares company name Perstorp AB and held the position of vice president and general manager of that company. Then, later on Schultz went on a research about the company that bought espresso machine from his company and discovered a coffee shop that sold fresh espresso coffees that is only available in Seattle. Schultz was then invited by Gerald Baldwin and Gordon Bawker to join their company because of they were impressed by the spirit and knowledge of business that Schultz had. Before he run the business, Schultz start idea of opening a coffee bar in Italy, this idea came from his experience during his trip in Italy, when he was observing the Italian’s social life. His idea was then rejected by Baldwin and Bowker as they were not willing to expand the business. Later on, Schultz manage to bought up Starbucks after knowing Baldwin and Bowker wanted to sold out their outlet, then Schultz start to overhaul the company with his idea that he has during his vacation in Italy. All people knows that Howard Schultz is a successful business man that raise the name of Starbucks, and as a successful man for sure he would have some traits that we may notice during his struggle. One of the trait that is shown by Schultz is that he is an open risk taker, an open risk taker is a person who is brave and willing to take risk.
  • 9. Schultz was an open risk taker because he is brave to take risk in order to become successful. For instance, Taken from Entrepreneur (2008), Schultz once open an espresso café and name it II Giornale(The Daily) before he fully bought up Starbucks. During this time, he wish that he could expand his business by opening more outlet everywhere but due to lack of funding he could not expand a lot. But, things change after he knows that Baldwin and Bowker wanted to sell out their outlets for 3.8million dollars, Schultz began to find investors so he can bought up Starbucks. Based on the statement, we can conclude that Schultz is an open risk taker as he is able to show us that he dare to take the risk to bought up Starbucks company knowing that if he fail to manage the business he will be in debt of 3.8million dollars. Next, on the route to become success Howard Schultz also has one of the characteristic which is observant, a person who has the characteristic of observant tend to pay attention to every detail. Schultz has this characteristic because he pays attention to everything that is related to business. Schultz pay extra attention everytime when he is onto something he interested. For instance, when he was working in Perstorp AB company, Schultz was curious about which company that bought a lot of his company’s espresso machine and then he start doing his investigation on this company by visiting the company’s place in Seattle. Even when Schultz was on vacation in Italy he also observe well around the culture of Italy. Other than that, he also make sure that he know every detail about what’s going on inside his company but most of the time he actually pay full attention to everything he does (Entrepreneur,2008). Based on these evidence we can conclude that Schultz has the characteristics observant because he was able to pay attention to every details that he face. Besides, on the route to become a successful entrepreneur also has one of these characteristics, which is visionary. A visionary entrepreneur has a picture in their mind, a clear and specific vision of the future. Howard Schultz has the characteristic of visionary because he had set the vision for his company. Starbucks’s vision is “to establish Starbucks as the premier purveyor of the finest coffee in the world while maintaining our uncompromising principles while we grow”. Today, Starbucks has achieved their vision which is being a premier purveyor because Starbucks has become one of the largest coffee companies in the food and beverages world. Starbucks now has
  • 10. more than 22,500 outlets around the world and it has fulfilled the vision of growth(GREGORY, 2015). Based on the statement, we can conclude that Howard Schultz is a visionary entrepreneur because he has a clear idea and he has the vision of what should be done in the future in order to improve. Team oriented Team oriented describes a person who are selfless. A team oriented person include others opinion before making a decision. Also, everyone will be included no matter the project is big or not. In team oriented, no people are superior than the others and in team oriented everyone is on the same level. Every big company needs a team oriented people in order to expand the company’s business. For instance, one of the company that is team oriented will be the famous searching site Google. Google is an online web search engine that is founded by Larry Page and Sergey Bin. Based on Huffington post (2015), Google is a team oriented company because it need lots of people on different department, and Google are hiring people every day and year in search for better employee that has better conditions to improve the company performance. Everyone in the company can suggest their idea in order to improve Google. Other than that, Page and Bin has always been using the concept of treating the staff good equals to having more user, they believe if you give the staff more free time then they will start to do great stuff. Google provides their staff with every single thing a person needs daily such as car, food, shelter, sleep and etc. Based on what the online article wrote about Google, we can agree that the idea of Page and Bin is really all for the sake of staff flexibility although they are the person who is earning.
  • 11. Visionary Visionary is a person who has a clear picture about what should happen or done in future or a person can see what something could be long before it actually happens. Each entrepreneur must have the vision to be achieved by the objectives formulated. An entrepreneur who have the vision to have a good plan. They will set goals in either the long term or the short term. In addition, entrepreneurs also have to know what needed to be achieved but not all entrepreneurs have a vision at the beginning of the opening of the firm. They will set the vision, realizing what had happened to the firm itself. This can make it easier for them to become successful entrepreneurs as a strategic planning and high competitiveness. Bryan Loo is a Malaysian Entrepreneur and the master franchisor for the Chatime brand in Malaysia. Bryan Loo grew up in Perlis, the smallest state in Malaysia. He has been engaged in entrepreneurial activity since he was 7 years old. He was good at drawing comic books and he started earning extra pocket money by using his drawing skills. He drew and rented the comic books to his classmate for RM0.50. Loo studied a degree in biotech from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. After he graduated, he returned to Malaysia and worked as a salesman in a biotech company for 2 years. Loo felt unhappy, he resigned and decided to chase his dreams and start his own business. As Loo say:” To have dreams and discover their interests in life. Young entrepreneurs must have a clear idea of what their dreams are about. Dreams with visions should be able to show and control them to where they want to be. It should fuel them with the passion and fire to begin a startup business of any kind. In addition, their interests will help them identify the kind of business that they will like to work in. Besides that, with an aim to look for an F&B business that requires only an automated process to control quality. Loo started doing research on the industry by visiting different trade expos with his father in Taiwan although he had no previous working background in the F&B industry. Then, Loo saw a gap in the beverage industry, at that time the coffee market like Starbucks was the trend. He identifies that “There were no real tea beverages offered to the middle-low range target market. Of course not at all these business wasn’t smooth sailing initially and Loo was rejected by many top brands as none of them were keen to expand their business in Malaysia. Nonetheless, he keeps
  • 12. going to look for potential partners. Finally, he made contact with the director of Chatime, Henry who had a global mindset and was willing to work with Loo to expand Chatime. Then, Loo answered that he sold a vision when asked how he convinced the director despite being a nobody couple of years back. Nowadays, Chatime has expanded to more than 100 outlets all over Malaysia. It is also the favorites bubble milk tea brand among Malaysians and Chatime has created many wonderful memories especially among the Generation Y, which can be very obvious in their postings with a cup of Chatime Pearl Milk Tea in their hands on Facebook or Instagram. Outcome oriented Cole (1969) defines entrepreneurship as activities that bring benefits through the development of a profit-oriented business. Ray Kroc has its profit-oriented entrepreneur who is the former CEO of McDonalds. He revolutionized the restaurant industry for the production of hamburgers, fries, and shakes. To develop the operating system and delivery of advanced, he made sure that the chips are purchased by customers in Topeka will be the same as those bought in New York City. In 1960, there were more than 200 channels McDonald's across the United States, fuelled by the rapid expansion of low-cost franchise. Ray Kroc was almost loses money when creating one of the most powerful brands all the time. Finally, he decided to use real estate as a financial support of up to McDonald's to a profitable operation. In 1956, Kroc set up the Franchise Realty Corporation, buying land and act as the owner of the restaurant for franchise buyers who are interested. Through this measure, McDonald's began to make the company profitable and successful passing off. Kroc then introduced national advertising programs to spread quickly franchise. The company's growth was slow in the region of origin in the early 1970s, but the spirit in her successful push to create a global market for McDonald's.
  • 13. These days, various companies are involved, including pizza, processing or selling the toy to profit from this type of system pioneered by Ray Kroc. McDonalds Corporation statistics show the United States are more than 33,000 McDonald's restaurants covering 119 countries. As a pioneer of the franchise McDonald's, Ray Kroc managed to show a profit-oriented entrepreneurship in. Open culture Open Culture is a concept according to which knowledge should be spread freely and its growth should come from developing, altering or enriching already existing works on the basis of sharing and collaboration, without being restricted by rules linked to the legal protection of intellectual property. In a context of globalization, the consequence is that all citizens should have equal access to information. This character can be shown on Datuk Wira (Dr) Haji Ameer Ali whom the Chairman of GST Task Force, Malaysian Retailers Association (MRA) and Managing Director of Mydin Mohamed Holdings Bhd. He began his banking career upon graduation in 1980 as a Bank Officer in AmBank (formally known as Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank) and held a Manager position before he left banking sector to work for his family business in 1988. • 14. and Consumerism (MDTCC) on GST issues pertinent to retail industry. Networked Networked are defined as developing and using contacts made in business for purposes beyond the reason for the initial contact. For example, a sales representative may ask a customer for names of others who may be interested in his product. The ability to network is one of the most crucial skills any entrepreneur can have. Chris Hirst are one of the successful entrepreneur who are the CEO of Grey London.
