SBAR is a framework used for communication between healthcare teams about a patient's condition. It was developed at Kaiser Permanente of Colorado and includes Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation. SBAR is commonly used when transferring patients between care settings or during shift changes. This document proposes using mind mapping to structure the SBAR framework, with each element of SBAR forming a branch in the mind map. This allows for automated generation of SBAR communications.
