Scene 3 script
- 1. “THE TREES HAVE EYES” By Laura Fagan and Sasha Protsenko EXT NIGHTTIME - STREET MARION is blonde and has dark eye makeup and lipstick. She is wearing a lowcut black top, a short checked pink skirt, a black puffer jacket, white sneakers, a best friends necklace, and big white hoop earrings. She is walking down a street, lit with bright streetlights. She looks around and takes out a pack of 20 Marlboro Reds, a small bottle of Vodka, takes a shot, and puts a cigarette to her mouth. NORMAN is wearing a black shirt, black jeans, black sneakers, and a red letterman jacket. He is tall with dark hair. NORMAN (reaching his arm out to her shoulder) BOO! MARION (with whiny intonation) Norman! You are such a dick! I thought you were about to slash my throat or something! NORMAN (laughing) Relax Marion! It was just a joke. (reaches his arm out towards the bottle) Pass me the bottle, no point going late to a party if you’re still sober. MARION We’re not that late. MARION’S phone dings, her background is a picture of her best friends MANDY and LAURIE drinking a bottle of vodka. The two texts from MANDY say; WYA? I’m soooo bored lol. MARION We still have some time together if we make it quick.
- 2. EXT NIGHTTIME - FOREST MARION and NORMAN walk into the forest together holding hands. MARION is leaning against a tree and her and NORMAN are kissing. There is a loud cracking sound heard in the distance. MARION (worried) What was that? NORMAN Your mom MARION (laughing) Norman! Stop it. MARION puts her hand on his chest, and they continue kissing. The cracking sound is heard again. MARION Seriously, what was that? NORMAN Nothing baby, don’t worry. MARION Seriously Norman, go check what it is. I’m not putting on a show here. NORMAN (rolls his eyes and walks away) The sounds of leaves crunching continues getting louder. MARION (yelling) Norman! Norman? She takes out her phone and calls him and hears it ringing in the distance. MARION Okay that’s enough Norman. Stop messing with me, come out!
- 3. MARION walks into the forest, following the sound of his phone ringing. She finds the phone on the floor covered in blood. The sound of leaves crunching gets louder. KILLER reaches out their hand and puts it on MARION’S shoulder. She turns around. MARION (screams) KILLER grabs her throat and slashes it. MARION clutches her throat; her hands and neck are covered in blood. She falls to the ground and is dragged off. EXT NIGHTTIME - FOREST KILLER is seen digging in the forest. MARION’S pink checked skirt is seen covered in dirt. INT SCHOOL CORRIDOR – DAYTIME LAURIE opens her locker. She is a blonde teenage girl. She has no makeup except a clear gloss to give her a youthful look. She is wearing a pink checked skirt, a black knitted jumper, black fishnets, and shiny black doc martens' boots. The SCHOOL CORRIDOR is covered with missing posters, they are aged and have scribbles on them. There are school bags and coats all over the floor. LAURIE is standing outside MANDY’S locker and looking around. The inside of the locker is filled with gemstones, stickers, glittery stars and hearts, as well as a mirror, a pot filled with lip-glosses and photos of her with MANDY and MARION as well as printouts of female led horrors films. She is listening to an acoustic version of KILLER QUEEN by QUEEN through her wired headphones. She takes out her maths book and starts flicking the pages. MANDY is blonde, she is wearing dark eye makeup and lipstick. She has a pink checked skirt and black tank top, a best friends necklace, white hoop earrings, and has black wedges. MANDY
- 4. (waving her hand) Laurie! Laurie? MANDY pulls out her headphone MANDY Laurie, are you doing in my locker? LAURIE I was getting my maths book back MANDY You know you should stop finding x and start finding a boyfriend MANDY pushes LAURIE aside and starts putting lipgloss on in the mirror MANDY Have you seen Marion since Friday? We were supposed to go to Wes’s together, but she ditched me. LAURIE (nervously) I’m sure she’s fine. The girls are seen talking from afar. MANDY checks herself in the mirror and talks. MANDY She hasn’t posted on her story all weekend. That’s like totally out of character. MANDY closes the locker. People pass in front of her. LAURIE You know Marion, she’s probably too busy with some new guy. MANDY Yeah, you’re right. The bell rings. LAURIE picks up her bag, the girls walk towards class. MANDY (putting her arm around LAURIE) Speaking of. I met this guy at Wes’s. He was so fit.
