Learn how to search the internet using “Google” Step 1. Open Internet by  clicking on this logo  Step 2. Type  www.google.com.au   into the address bar and press enter Step 3. Your screen should now look like this.  Then, type  famous scientists  into the search box and press enter
How to find a list of famous scientists Step 4. Your search results should look like this Step 5. Choose and click on one heading e.g.  Famous Scientists. Record the name of any scientist of interest in your notebook. Step 6.  To search another heading, click the Back arrow.  Repeat Step 2 for  other headings e.g.  Scientists  to find more names.
Choosing search words to find information about your favourite scientist Step 8. Click on the heading you think will have the most information, like you did in Step 5. Step 9.  This is an example of an article on Albert Einstein.  It contains information about his life, his work and why he is famous. Step 7. Search for your Favourite Famous Scientist by entering their full name into the search box e.g.  Albert Einstein  and click enter
How do you know if your search results are any good? Step 11. Read the short description of the website in black.  Is this the information you are looking for? Step 12.  If Step 10 and 11 look good (i.e. reliable and relevant) then click on the blue heading. Step 10. Look at the website address in green.  It tells who has put the information on the internet.  “edu” and “gov” are reliable sources and “org” is usually reliable.
How do you record the information you have found? Step 14. Write down the author, name of article and the date you looked at the web page. Step 15.  Record the information about your Favourite Famous Scientist in your notebook. Step 13. Write down the website address you get the information from e.g.  nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/physics/laureates/1921/einstein-bio.html
