Front cover screenshots- Image
manipulation
This is one of the very first things that I manipulated. With this,
the hand displaying the “peace” sign is meant to replicate the ‘v’
in my magazine for the name of the Masthead, Revolt. I believe
this to be a very effective idea as it shows the artistic side of the
magazine but also makes it unique compared to other
magazines.
The image that you see here is the image that I manipulated for
my front cover photo. At first, it was just a plain blue background
from when I used the green screen. By manipulating this image I
felt that I would have more freedom in creating and
experimenting with my background which was something that
was a key element to me. Also without a background, it meant
that full focus was on the image which was the main focus of the
front cover.
Front cover screenshots- Text
With these specific screenshots, I will mainly outline the text. The first image displays the main coverline which is the
coverline that anchors the main image. This clearly shown by the fact that the artists name is clearly the biggest thing
highlighting his importance. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th image all show my coverlines that I used. As you can see, these are slightly
different due to the fact that they are a lot smaller than the main coverlines they have a different style and level of
importance. Although, like the main coverline, I used a website called Dafont. I used this website for the words that are in
green and also the name of my artist. I did this to again highlight the importance of my artist but also because they were
buzz words which are used to attract audiences.

manipulation
With this first image, I manipulated in a similar way to which I
manipulated my main image on my front cover. The reason I did this
was to keep that idea of the main image being the main driver for the
magazine. Again, I also believe it puts more focus on the person in the
image.
The image on the right is the same person who was on my main
image. But again. I have completely taken out the background by using
the magic wand tool. This was because I felt that firstly, the
background made the image look messy and unprofessional but also,
it had no relevance to the actual article which may of made it
confusing for the audience.
For this final screenshot, in the bottom left hand corner, I didn’t
manipulate this image at all. The main reason for this is that I felt that
the background in this image was relevant to the image as the lighting
was perfect as well as the models fitting in with the environment. The
only thing that I really did was add a border which was mainly to
emphasise the image, but I did this for all the images.
