How to Use Scribd to Manage your
Files in Your Wordpress Website

If you have presentations or other documents that you wish to
share in your website, how do you easily do that?

Simple! There is Scribd!

Scibd allows you to upload your documents and
enables you to link it to your website!

It is FREE!

Want to learn how to
use it?

Let’s get
started!

In your browser, type
scribd.com

You will be directed to the Scribd Homepage

Click Sign In

Input your log in details

You can log in using
Facebook,

or your Google
account,

You can also log in
using your email
account.

To log in via email, input
your email address

And then your
password

Then click
Sign In

If you don’t have an
existing account yet,
click Sign Up

Input all required details when
signing up and creating your
Scribd account.

This will be your Scribd homepage upon sign in.

To start uploading your documents,
click Upload

You can now start uploading your ﬁles!

Select documents to upload

Or simply just drag & drop your ﬁles from your
computer to the Scribd screen.

Choose the ﬁle that you wish to upload.

Supported ﬁles are the following:

Once the ﬁle is chosen, you will be able to see the
progress of the upload

Once done, a preview of the ﬁle will be shown

Put the title of the document

And a description of the document uploaded.

If you do not want your document to be seen
publicly, click “Make this document private”.

For now, let us leave it unticked

Notice as well the advanced settings option
when uploading

You can customize what people can do to your
uploaded document.

Update as required

Click DONE

Once done, you will be prompted with the following:

You can share your documents through different
platforms

You can share via Facebook,

Twitter,

Linked in,

Email,

Or embed to your site

To link a document to your website, click embed

You will be
shown this
screen

This shows you the
link of the document.

You can copy this
and share via
different platforms.

This area has the
code that you can
use in your website.

You can choose
between HTML or
Wordpress format.

This part allows you to
customize the size of your
document when uploaded.

While this part gives
you the option on where
the presentation will
start when uploaded.

And the
presentation
style.

Style can either be via Slideshow or Scrolling

You can also include the link together with the
document by clicking this

It also shows you a preview of
how your document looks like
when uploaded.

It has the link of the
document,

The number of
pages,

An option to
download,

An option to share,

And to maximize
the screen.

Before embedding the document, make
sure all your required parameters are met.

Customize how your document will
be shown via the following steps:

Refer to this portion of Scribd:

Start with choosing your preferred
size:

For this example, choose the
medium size (600x800)

Then, choose the page where the
presentation will start when shown,

And the presentation style.

Choose whether to include the link,
or not.

Once done, copy the code in the box

Now we are done with the customization. Let
us move to updating our wordpress website!

Go to your wordpress site to upload the link.

Make the necessary write up that is
related to the document

To link the document to your site, click Text

In the text box below, paste the
code from Scribd

Paste the code on where you
want the document to appear.

If you want it before the write up,
paste it before the start of the article.

To see how it looks like in your page, click Visual.

Review the changes done and update as necessary.

To see how your new post will look like on your site,
click Preview.

A new tab will appear, showing you how
your new post will look like…

Click Publish if you are satisﬁed with
your new post.

Hooray! Your new post is now published,
with a link to your document in Scribd!

Now, let’s look at other Scribd
functionalities that you can use.

It allows you to Upload Additional Documents

You can also see all ﬁles that
you have uploaded

Just click your proﬁle,

Click Uploads

All documents that you have
uploaded will be shown.

Details of your documents are also shown

It shows the document title and details,

The Classiﬁcation, if any

It also shows the number of pages,

How many reads the document had

And when it was published.

You can also still edit the uploaded
document in this portion.

Add to a library,

Or make the document private.

You can also delete documents
that are no longer needed.
