- 2. 2 FADE IN: SCENE 1: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 1), DAY TIME The scene starts in location 1, with LAUREN walking round her bedroom listening to music while on her phone. SCENE 2: EXT, BRAD’S HOUSE (LOCATION 2), DAY TIME It then cuts to location 2, with BRAD walking into his house with Boxes, he’s moving into his new house today. SCENE 3: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 1), DAY TIME It then cuts back to LAUREN in location 1, where she is now laid on her bed on the phone to her best friend RUBY, giggling and playing with her hair. SCENE 4: INT, BRAD’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 3), DAY TIME It then cuts back to BRAD who is now in his bedroom waking around sorting the boxes. He then sits down on his bed, picks up his phone to check if he has any messages from anyone. He realizes he doesn’t have any messages, sighs. SCENE 5: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 1), NIGHT TIME It then cuts back to LAUREN who is still on her phone, hours later, and has loads of messages from boys. She is opening the snapchats and replying to them all. SCENE 6: INT, BRAD’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 3), NIGHT TIME Cuts back to BRAD who is sat up on his bed with only his bedside light on now. He is starring at his phone which has no new messages. He puts his phone back and flops his head onto his pillow to go to sleep. SCENE 7: INT, SCHOOL HALLWAY (LOCATION 4), DAY TIME It’s now the next day and LAUREN is stood in the school hallway leaning up against the lockers talking to her best friend RUBY. LAUREN OMG! I was talking to Tom again last night and we spoke for like ten minutes straight before he read me off.
- 3. 3 RUBY What happened to Luke, I thought you were getting with him, weren’t you meant to have seen him on Saturday? LAUREN Oh Luke was so last week, I saw him on Saturday, got what I wanted and tossed him just like the rest. RUBY Ahh, so Tom’s your next target? LAUREN Target?! You say that like it’s a bad thing? LAUREN leans into RUBY and can’t believe that she is accusing her. RUBY Well I mean, don’t you think you should just find a guy and stick with him rather than being a dick and messing them around. LAUREN Well I mean I don’t just…. As LAUREN is speaking to RUBY she pauses mid-sentence as she realizes a guy who she’s never seen before. She stares at him as he walks past. RUBY OMG! That must be the new guy everyone was talking about. I’ve heard he’s meant to be so awkward. LAUREN Well, we’ll see about that.
- 4. 4 SCENE 8: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 1), NIGHT TIME Lauren is sat on her bed trying to find BRAD on Instagram so she can message him. LAUREN reads the message out loud as she writes it. LAUREN “Hey! Noticed you today, just wondered if you noticed me too, winky face emoji”. SCENE 9: INT, BRAD’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 3), NIGHT TIME BRAD sees the message pop up on his phone. He gasps and does a double take of his phone, he’s not used to girls messaging him. He looks down wants more and reads out the message. BRAD “Hey! Noticed you today, just wondered if you noticed me too, winky face emoji”. BRAD looks up with a confused, awkward expression and starts thinking about what he’s going to reply “Ummm hey, yeah weren’t you the one in the corridor” SCENE 10: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 1), NIGHT TIME Lauren looks down at her phone and is in shock that BRAD actually noticed her. LAUREN OMG! He must have seen me talking to Ruby! LAUREN looks down at her phone again and thinks about what to reply. LAUREN “Meet me tomorrow after school?”
- 5. 5 SCENE 11: INT, BRAD’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 3), NIGHT TIME BRAD sits and thinks about what to say, he’s heard bad things about LAUREN but she seems harmless enough to him. BRAD “Yeah alright, where” SCENE 12: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 1), NIGHT TIME LAUREN “By the benches?” SCENE 13: INT, BRAD’S BEDROOM (LOCATION 3), NIGHT TIME BRAD sits and thinks about what to say, he’s heard bad things about LAUREN but she seems harmless enough to him. BRAD “Sounds good” SCENE 14: EXT, SCHOOL, BENCHES (LOCATION 5), DAY TIME LAUREN is stood by the benches at school where she arranged to meet BRAD. She is stood with Ruby. LAUREN Ruby just leave, quick, he’s gonna be here soon. RUBY But I wanna see what happens, I wanna see him. LAUREN Just go, look he’s coming now. LAUREN looks and sees BRAD walking towards her in the distance with a slight smile on his face. He then approaches LAUREN at the benches. BRAD Hi, you okay?
- 6. 6 LAUREN Yeah not bad you? BRAD Yeah not too bad. There is a sight awkwardness and neither of them knows what to say. They’re looking around thinking of something to say. LAUREN So, do you like wanna come back to mine now then? BRAD Woah… bit forward. LAUREN Isn’t that what we’re doing though? BRAD I don’t know, is it? You’re the one who said we should meet. LAUREN Well no one ever wants anything else from me, so I just figured… BRAD Umm, I’m sorry I gotta go, (he looks around for an excuse to leave), this isn’t what I thought. BRAD swiftly walks away, and LAUREN is left standing alone. LAUREN (to herself), fuck sake Lauren, why didn’t you just tell him you’re more than just a shag.
- 7. 7 SCENE 15: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM, (LOCATION 1), NIGHT TIME LAUREN is sat in her room trying to put together a message to send to BRAD. She’s reading the message aloud as she types. LAUREN “Brad, I didn’t want to come across forceful today… you can just send me something now if you want, winky face.” SCENE 16: INT, BRAD’S BEDROOM, (LOCATION 3), NIGHT TIME BRAD sees the message from LAUREN and raises his eyebrows. He didn’t think he’d get a message like this after what happened earlier that day. BRAD “What’s wrong with you I’m not sending you anything”. SCENE 17: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM, (LOCATION 1), NIGHT TIME LAUREN “Not even a quick pic?” SCENE 16: INT, BRAD’S BEDROOM, (LOCATION 3), NIGHT TIME BRAD “Lauren! I thought you actually liked me? I’m not hanging around if that’s all you’re interested in”. SCENE 18: INT, LAUREN’S BEDROOM, (LOCATION 1), NIGHT TIME LAUREN looks at the message from BRAD and realizes what she is doing. No guy had ever called her out before so she thought what she was doing was normal and what everyone expected her to do.
- 8. 8 LAUREN (To herself)I don’t know what I’m doing, I can’t just tell him that I actually like him can I. I don’t know what to do in these situations, he’ll just think I’m joking. SCENE 19: INT, SCHOOL HALLWAY (LOCATION 4), DAY TIME LAUREN and RUBY and stood by the lockers. LAUREN is thinking to herself about how she thinks she’s going to tell BRAD how she really feels about him today. RUBY So… how was Brad, did anything happen. LAUREN Well… Yeah… nothing much. RUBY Got him wrapped around your little finger like the rest? LAUREN That’s not all I am you know, I am capable of having real feelings for a boy. RUBY Right, I’ll believe it when I see it. LAUREN rolls her eyes at RUBY as she walks away, she then starts looking out for BRAD. BRAD then starts walking round the corner, catches sight of LAUREN and swiftly walks past. LAUREN runs after him and grabs his arm to stop him walking away. LAUREN Hey Brad! Please wait.
- 9. 9 BRAD What, so you can ask to see my dick again? LAUREN No! It was a misunderstanding yesterday… it’s hard to explain. BRAD I’m listening. LAUREN looks round to see who’s around that could hear her. LAUREN Well I basically just got this reputation for myself by accident and now I don’t know how to get a guy without doing what I do, everyone just expects it from me. BRAD Well I’m not everyone and I don’t think that’s the only way to get a guy, not all guys are into that you know. LAUREN Well it’s all I’ve knows, I got the reputation for myself so long ago, and I really like you and I don’t know how to get a guy and I- LAUREN stops mid-sentence and she realizes what she just said. Brad lifts his eyebrows at her. BRAD Sorry… what was that? LAUREN I ummm… ummm, nothing LAUREN turns to walk away out of embarrassment. BRAD grabs her to stop her. LAUREN turns around, looks at BRAD in the eyes and freezes.
- 10. 10 BRAD leans in for a kiss and LAUREN kisses him back. BRAD I umm just assumed that’s what you’d want. LAUREN kisses Brad again. RUBY is looking through the door in shock, she enters. RUBY Okay what the fuck just happened. She stares, mouth wide open in shock, at BRAD and LAUREN. RUBY That’s not how this works. LAUREN I’m sorry? What do you mean ‘that’s not how it works’. RUBY realizes what she’s said and turns awkward and embarrassed. RUBY I umm it doesn’t matter LAUREN Ruby! RUBY Well we had a thing going on didn’t we… you fuck and chuck, then I fuck and chuck. LAUREN freezes and takes a minute to process what she’s just heard. LAUREN So you’re basically saying that you wait for me to find a guy, wait until I’m done with them then you have a go as well. RUBY I mean… yeah
- 11. 11 LAUREN Phahah! OMG! You’re worse than me. RUBY So I’m guessing its going to be a while until you’re done with this one. (She says gesturing to BRAD) LAUREN Oh yeah, this one’s a keeper. BRAD turns to Lauren takes her hand and they both walk away from RUBY down the hallway. FADE OUT: THE END
