The sound of music (a favourite of the subject)
A montage of shots showing the streets of London.A very
busy oxford street. Streams of people. Starbucks,
McDonalds Zara. Advertising images with happy shiny
people.
2 EXT.OXFORD SIDE STREETS.DAY 2
The darker side of London is seen, drains, and waste.
Somewhere in this mess is RICHARD...somewhere. He is
infringed on society and ignored, yet shares the same
streets as all the people in the previous scene.
3 TITLE 3
FINDING RICHARD
4 INT.KITCHEN.DAY 4
Marnie and Jade two 17 year old students sit inside a
middle class kitchen. Marnie is on the phone
MARNIE
here we go...whats the number
Marnie starts to dial a number. She eventually gets
through
asks where or if the hostel knows
of a Richard. She provides a
description

Haggard feet, torn clothing and plastic bags
RICHARD V/O
My name is Richard, and this is
my story.
6 EXT.COUNTRYSIDE.DAY 6
(muted nature noises) Montage shots of countryside.
RICHARD
richard describes growing up
7 INT.ABANDONED HOUSE.DAY 7
Richard continues to describe his family life
We are in an abandoned terraced house, it has been left
barren for ages. Slowly we glide through the living room
A distant indistinct tv can be heard

into the kitchen.
the sound of pots hissing, cutlery clanging...children in
the background
Into the bedrooms
continues describing family life
8 EXT.OXFORD STREET.DAY 8
shots of families in the streets of London as he describes
his relationship with his family
9 EXT.OXFORD STREET.DAY 9
describes his time in the army
Footage of war zones in Afghanistan, merged with streets
of London whilst he describes his life in the army with
sounds of war integrated within street noises as he talks.
There will then be intimate close up shots, at the height
of where he is sitting
Shots of an army base.
10 INT.SHOP.DAY 10
Interview with shop workers as they describe relationships
with Richard and what communications they had/have with
him.
11 INT.PET STORE.DAY 11
the manager discusses his
experiences with Richard and what
he purchases
Shows Richards dog which he found abandoned on the
streets, he discusses their mutualistic relationship.
12 INT.HOSTEL.DAY 12
Talks to woman who works in hostel which Richard
occasionally visits if he gets enough money to spend a
night.
she discusses agreements they
have whereby he gives her money
and she allows him certain things
in exchange, e.g. washing his
clothes for him.
13 EXT.OXFORD STREET.DAY 13
he tells us what he appreciates
in life and the positive and
negative issues he faces on the
streets
intimate and personal close up shots of himself and his
dog as well as the belongings he has

finish off with advice he would
give to others and what he would
change about his life if he could
go back in time.
