INT. THEATRE. MIDDAY.
SCENE 1
Everett Gladstone a failing comedian is busy performing at
his show this is where he is hoping to catch his big break in
the comedy business Everett is strange man to understand
however his ambition is a powerful tool he possesses inside
the theatre it is cold and almost empty as no one has showed
up to Everett's show we can see the rage of Everetts face but
he continues to be professional and carries on with his
performance. A large drop of sweat drops from Everetts cheek
and it hits the ground making a loud noise like a tap
dripping he then begins to tell jokes to his near empty
audience.
EVERETT:
In voiceover Everett talks to the audience and to himself
Every since i was young i had always
dreamed of being a comedian i had
watched and listened to the likes of
old Cyril Fletcher broadcasts and
phoenix nights hosted by peter kay but
anyways thats enough about me your
about ready to hear my first crack at
comedy.
EVERETT:
Here is something funny (laughs
uncontrollably) what do you call a cow
thats shaking (Begins laughing again)
A milkshake (More Laughter)
The room is silent not a single person in the audience finds
this amusing. The silence surrounds the room and echoes of
everett chuckles and laughter.
AUDIENCE MEMBER
Hey you suck man
EVERETT
comedy isn't for everyone (chuckles
more)
The man in the audience he gets up and walks out the theater
in disgust he mumbles on his way out

AUDIENCE MEMBER
you will never be a comedian you suck
SCENE 2 INT. BATHROOM DAY
Everett triggers some bad memories and begins thinking about
his near psychotic episode he had before his show where he
struggled to manage his emotions he began pacing round the
toilet and holding his head in pain he was heavily sweating
and couldn't catch his breath it seemed as if he was having a
bad panic attack this could have been due to nervs with his
upcoming performance in 30 mins he looks into the mirror
washes his face with water and prepares for his show.
While looking into a mirror he begins to talk to himself.
EVERETT
you can do this you were made for
comedy everyone is gonna love you
(Repeats Stage Joke in head) (Begins
laughing again)
Everett then pulls himself together and walks out the toilets
confidently and walks towards the theatre to perform his
show.
SCENE 3 THERAPY ROOM INT. DAY
Some time after Everett's poorly performed show he has an
appointment with his counsellor the room is cold and dimly
lit this gives off a weird but soothing environment everett's
counsellor is sitting in his chair with piercing eyes and he
his slowly tapping his pen onto the folder placed on his lap
he has a sad but pleased look on his face the tapping
intensifies for a quick moment as Everett gets closer however
the tapping decreases as everett sits down opposite to his
counsellor the session begins.
ABDUL
So Everett how has your past week been
hope its been good and productive.
EVERETT
Well Abdul this week has been great,

ABDUL

ABDUL

EVERETT
It could have gone better however
comedy isn't for everyone (Begins
laughing)
ABDUL
Would you like to tell me whats on
your mind.
EVERETT
Not really Abdul i should not have
come
ABDUL
I see. (Pause) thats dissapointing to
hear Everett it seemed as though you
were making good progress.
EVERETT
Im trying to focus on my career in
comedy than my health first Abdul
ABDUL
Its good that your trying to achieve
your dreams however its also extremely
important to manage your health and
keep yourself in a positive mood. do
you understand Everett?
EVERETT
Yeah i get you Abdul!
ABDUL
Well i hope your are feeling back to
yourself soon if there is nothing else
you would like to add i will see you
at your next appointment which i have
booked for 2 weeks from now at 1pm is
that ok?
ABDUL
Just a moment Everett i am going to be
upping the dose on your current
prescription this is just to make
things easier its not a setback its
just to help you when you need it
most.

EVERETT
Ok thank you Abdul bye for now.
ABDUL
Bye Everett.
SCENE 4 TOILET INT. DAY
Its been a few hours since Everett has come out of his
appointment its time that he has to take his pills that he
just picked up Everett is in the bathroom he has the pills in
his hand he is debating on weather to take his pills he
glances down to them on his hand he realizes n his hand that
he does not want to be taking these drugs as he believes it
will ruin his creativity for his comedic career and decides
that he is going to flush them and stop taking them.
SCENE 5 STREET EXT. DAY
Everett is still frustrated with the way his show went he
goes outside for a walk and he is struggling to keep his head
together due to the fact that he was greatly embarrassed
during his show and the fact that he did not get many people
who showed up to the show to watch him and he had a brief
disagreement he walks downtime road with his hands in his
pocket and his head down he tries to wear earphones to block
out the sound and zone out however this seems ineffective to
everett as he begins to feel worse and worse with every step
he walks down the bank and into the park he turns and sits
onto a bench where he then feels in his pocket and pulls out
a gun its at this point where everett knows he can't achieve
his dream and he doesn't want to keep trying anymore he has
made his choice...
