Nepal is a developing country with mountains, difficult terrain, and smiling people. However, it faces many problems like electricity shortages and corrupt political practices. The media landscape in Nepal is growing, with the first news website launched in 1995 and the establishment of radio, television, newspapers, and online news portals since then. New media like blogs and online news sites have played an important role in advocacy and debate, and have forced traditional media to change and improve their coverage, especially during political crises when censorship is imposed.

- 2. NEPAL is a magical country – mountains, difficult terrains, and smiling people. NEPAL is a developing country with new republic democracy. There are lots of problems in NEPAL – up to 16-hour-a-day electricity load- shedding, and most sadly dirty political games. Yet, we NEPALIS are hopeful for magic!

Online editor of Republica national daily My previous stints at various newspapers including The Kathmandu Post include translator, business reporter, desk editor, and sports bureau co-ordinator. A pioneer blogger – I ran two blogs that advocated for democracy during the King-imposed censorship in newspapers.
- 4. Post-graduation in journalism in 2005. Taught journalism to undergraduate student. Expertise in online media and blogging. Research on media is my academic interest. Married childhood sweetheart 8 years ago, no children. I dream to become a fiction writer.
