- 2. WHAT IS SEMANTICS? Semantics is the study of the meaning of human language (natural language). At one level ‘meaning’ is an ordinary English word that can be used in a number of different ways. Semantics is not about the use of a particular word
- 3. HOW DOES SEMANTICS CHARACTERIZE MEANING? Semantics tries to characterize the meaning of expressions: In relation to other expressions, and In relation to the objects and situations about which they offer information.
