Instructional Objectives: 1. Differentiate the properties of solids, liquids, and gases based on the particle nature of matter.
2. Perform an experiment that shows how water behaves in different states of matter.

the Daily Lesson Log (DLL)
Activity

Review of the Previous Lesson/s
or Presenting New Lesson PICTURE ANALYSIS
The teacher shows pictures to the students. The students classify the pictures shown if Matter or not.
Establishing a Purpose for the New
Lesson
The students simulate using PET Simulation entitled “State of Matter Basics”.
Presenting Examples/ Instances of
the New Lesson
The teacher asks the students the following questions:
1. What will happen to the particles if you add heat?
2. What will happen to the particles if you remove /lessen the heat?
Discussion of New Concept # 1
INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING
Differentiate the properties of solids, liquids, and gases based on the particle nature of matter.
Discussion of New Concept # 2
INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING
Explains the duality of phases of matter.
Developing Mastery Leading for

The students perform an experiment that shows how water behaves in different states of matter.
Finding Practical Applications of
concepts and Skills in Daily Living PICTURE ANALYSIS
Show a picture of Water Cycle. Ask students to identify all the phases involve in the water cycle.
