1. Law of the LearnerTeachers are responsible to cause students to learn.If students are not learning, then I am not teaching.
2. Law of the ExpectationExpect the best from your students. Low expectations is a deceptive form of bigotry.
3. Law of the ApplicationThe purpose of content is life-change. Knowledge – Application = Arrogance
4. Law of the RetentionEngage all sensesto teach the student the most information in the shortest time with the least effort andthe greatest retentionEngaging Content = Retention
5. Law of the NeedStudy your students. Seize attention. Stir curiosity. Thomas O'Brien, author of Brain-Powered Science: Teaching and Learning with Discrepant EventsStimulate felt needs. Satisfy real needs.
6. Law of the EquippingEach lesson should further equip the student for life and ministry.
6. Law of the RevivalTeaching that changes lives is directed to the emotions and the will, as well as to the mind. The goal is to transform the character as well as the mind.

  • #3: Create the proper environment:activities, charts, visuals, student presentations.
  • #4: Students will rise to the level of your expectations. You will get what you expect.
  • #5: Provide applications for each lesson. Knowledge without application leads to pride. Knowledge must be applied to be useful. Teach to change lives.
  • #6: To teach the student the most information in the shortest time with the least effort and the greatest retention use signs, posters,charts, pictures, music, rhymes, alliteration, color, activities, discussion.
  • #7: If your students are not motivated, perhaps the reason is that you did not have the right worm on the hook. Study your students. Seize attention. Stir curiosity.
  • #8: Equipping is best evaluated by what the student does after class and should impact both character and conduct.
