The iTEC project from 2010-2014 worked with education ministries, technology providers, and research organizations across Europe to transform technology use in classrooms. Over the course of the project, educational tools and resources were piloted in over 2,500 classrooms across 20 European countries. The goal was to provide a sustainable model for redesigning teaching and learning. The project involved 26 partners, including 14 Ministries of Education, and received €9.45 million in funding from the European Commission.

- 1. iTEC Innovative Technologies for Engaging Classrooms, 2010-2014
- 2. European Schoolnet worked with education ministries, technology providers and research organisations to transform the way that technology is used in schools.
- 3. Over the course of the project, educational tools and resources were piloted in over 2,500 classrooms across 20 European countries, with the goal of providing a sustainable model for fundamentally redesigning teaching and learning.
- 4. The project involved 26 project partners, including 14 Ministries of Education, and funding of €9.45 million from the European Commission’s FP7 programme. The project ended in August 2014.
- 5. The current cycle of the iTEC project will feature new Learning Activities and Learning Stories. The purpose of these new resources is to provide pupils with opportunities for collaboration, working with technological tools, and real-world applications for their lessons.
- 6. Developed by teachers from 15 countries across Europe, in collaboration with policy makers, pedagogical specialists and industry experts, iTEC Learning Activities often involve teamwork, use of technological tools, and working outside of traditional classroom environments.
- 7. They are highly flexible resources teachers can integrate into their classes, by choosing the learning objectives, context, and delivery.
- 8. What are scenarios in iTEC?
- 9. iTEC scenarios are short narrative descriptions of preferable learning contexts which are set within a model learning environment.
- 10. The intention is to both inspire teachers and provide them with the tools and training to carry out new practices which facilitate more engaging classrooms.
