Microsoft SharePoint 2010 introduced improvements to My Sites including a mid-tier cache to optimize loading of the most used user profiles, helping support up to 500,000 users on average. It also allowed adding web parts to wiki content pages using a new web part console and publishing ribbon, enabling users to enhance wiki pages with visually edited web parts.
