Sixth Grade Fables
The dog and the mice
One day a little dog was running through a
valley and found a small family of mice that
were hiding from a fox. The puppy said he
would protect the mice from the fox.
When the fox came that night, the
puppy snuck up and tackled him
saying, “leave the mice alone”. The
fox left but came back the next day
even though the mice were safe with
the puppy.
The dog pushed
the fox in the
river and then
the fox never
came back.
Help others in
need, even if
you don't know
them.
A Monkey and A
Parrot
.
A monkey was climbing
up a tree when a parrot
flew up and said to the
monkey, “This is my tree,
get out.” The monkey
then said to the parrot,
“We can share the tree.”
The parrot said, “NO.”
The moral
you learn
from this
story is you
should
always
share with
each other.
The monkey responded
to the parrot, “We can
both share this tree.”
Then the parrot agreed.
“ Ok we can share and I
know why, because
sharing is caring.”
Ladybug,
Dragonfly
and
Butterfly
Today is a special day. It’s Ladybug’s birthday. Her friends
Dragonfly and Butterfly are going to bring her a special gift.
They bring it to Ladybug and say “happy birthday.” They realize
that they forgot the gift. Which was their responsibility. This
shows that responsibility is really important.
One night there was a
cat that was lost in
the dark and couldn’t
find its way home. All
of a sudden there was
a small light glowing
in the darkness.
As the light got closer to the
cat, it realized it was a
firefly. The firefly helped the
cat find its way home. The cat
knew it had to do something in
return. One day the cat saw
the firefly struggling to fly,
so it gave it a ride back to its
home. This shows that you
have to treat others the way
The Fox and the Bear
A fox was in a box when along came a small
mouse. The fox ran after the mouse and made
the mouse go into the box. The fox thought he
was cool and scary until a bear came along
and scared the fox away. The fox never came
back.
This shows that people think they are
cool but they are really not. There is
always someone bigger or cooler
than you!
The Bear, the
Ant,
and the Dog
One day there was an ant that was
walking around. Then a bear came
and watched the ant walk around
and saw him get stuck in a pile of
dirt.
A dog came and picked up
the ant and put him in the
grass. The ant thought the
bear saved him and
thanked him. The bear
said “ you’re welcome.”
The dog was mad so he
told the ant that he was
the one who saved him.
The ant was mad at the
bear so the ant and dog
made the bear tell the
truth. This story teaches
you to be honest with each
The Dog, The Bird,
And The Spider
One day a boy
was walking
and dropped
his lolipop.
A dog and a bird
both were curious.
They started to
creep into the road
when they heard a
tiny voice say.
“Stop!”
Dog asked, “Who’s there?” A spider
crawled from her web. She said, “If
you go into that road, you can get
caught. A farmer lives on the other
side of the road and is always looking
for livestock.” Bird responded, “You’re
just an old spider! Why should we
listen to you?”
Spider said, “Though I was kind
enough to warn you, you may go into
the road if you please.” Dog and Bird
ignored her and crept slowly into the
road. Dog and Bird both touched the
lollipop with their hands and got
stuck. Bird and Dog both started
yelping for help.
The farmer across the street heard
the yelps of the animals. He came
over and picked up both animals
to keep on his farm: Dog was to
become a sheepdog and Bird for
his children’s pet. As the farmer
walked away, Spider, shaking her
head, said, “I warned those two
not to go in the road but they didn’t
listen to me because I was so
small.”
You should always listen to someone who wants
to help you.
The End
Sixth grade fables
There was a wild horse running freely in
the wind. She saw a river and stopped
to get a drink. Then an otter came up to
her and said “ Please don’t drink the
water.”
“ Why?! I am thirsty. I have been
running around for hours” said the
horse. “Fine, drink the water. Just so
we are clear, you have no idea what I
am capable of.” said the otter as he
scurried off. “Thank you”, said the
horse sarcastically.
As she bent down to take a drink, she
saw the little otter gone. She did not
care so she went off running once
more. Then she heard little running
footsteps. She turned around and saw
dozens of otters coming after her.
She ran as fast as she could but could
not outrun the otters, She ran and saw
a tunnel near by and went into it. No
one was there so she hid in it until she
could not hear the otters any more.
She stepped out and saw a baby otter and
she said “ shouldn’t you be with the other
otters trying to chase me down?” The otter
didn’t say anything. He just stood there
watching, staring at her. The horse stood
there wondering what was wrong. Could he
not speak she wondered.
The otter walked away in silence with the
horse following the little otter to the river.
She stopped when she saw many more
horses on the other side of the river. She
wondered if she should run or follow them
across the river. She started walking
across the river, and saw a farm with a girl
grooming the horses.
The girl saw the horse coming and said
“ Papa, Papa, there is a horse coming
from the river can we keep her?” Papa
came out and said, “Sure, if she can
run.” The horse neighed as a sign of
the answer yes. The girl said “you will
be mine forever.”
Sixth grade fables
The wolf
and the
monkey
There was a wolf who would feast on
animals at dawn each day. A
monkey would sit in the tree hiding
so the wolf would not eat him.
One day the wolf was caught in a trap and
the monkey climbed down the tree to save
the wolf. To repay the monkey the wolf
vowed to never kill any animals again
including the monkey. The wolf and the
monkey became friends and lived happily in
the woods.
Mo
ral:
This shows loyalty
because the animals
kept their pact and
lived happily from that
point on.
The monkey
There once was a monkey and a
lion that lived together.
One day, when lion went out
to hunt for food he told the
monkey, “ Please heat the fire
so that I can cook what I have
hunted.”
When lion left, monkey was
alone.
Eventually monkey was bored,so
he went outside to play. He played
all day. When lion got back and
saw that the fire had not been lit
he was furious and he roared.
“ You were supposed to light the
fire, instead you played all day!”
Because there was no fire they could
not cook dinner and both went to bed
hungry. The monkey apologized and
then the lion said, “Responsibility is
important to learn and is needed in
life.”
Goose
One day there
was a gorilla
that was lost
and needed
directions. He
asked a goose
for help.The
The gorilla got mad and said “If you
think I’m stupid then why don’t we
have a race?” They agreed since
both the goose and the gorilla
thought they could win the race.
There they go, close to the end of
the race there was a tower with
two ropes that they had to climb
up. The goose started climbing up
but the gorilla climbed up the side
of the tower and he won.
The gorilla
outsmarted the
goose.
The moral of the
story is to never
judge a book by its
cover.
The Bird, the Dog, and
the Cat
One day a bird was
eating a burger out of
the trash when he saw
a dog chasing a cat
that was yelling for
7 days later the bird
broke its wing and was
yelling for help but
noone heard him.
Then came a familiar
The cat laughed and
said, ”7 days ago I
asked you for help and
you did not help me,
so why should I help
The lesson to the story is:
TREAT OTHERS
HOW YOU WANT
TO BE TREATED.
The Squirrel
and his home
One day there was a squirrel. He
was looking for a tree to make a
nest in for the winter. He came
across an old tree. The squirrel
said “I don’t like this one. It is too
old.”
Then he came across a short tree
and he said, “This tree is too
short I want a big one!”
The last tree was big and perfect
for his nest. But he saw other
squirrels living in the tree and he
said, “There are too many
squirrels that live here. I don't
want to share”.
Thanks for watching
So then he did not have shelter
for the winter.
The lesson: Do Not Be Picky and
be thankful for what you get.
The Wolf’s Regret
Once there was a hungry wolf
hunting a rabbit. The wolf slowly
watched the rabbit. Then out of
nowhere the wolf jumped up and
caught the rabbit. The Rabbit said,
“Please, I’ll help you, if you save me”.
But the Wolf didn’t listen and said
“How could you save me”?
The next day the wolf
was caught by hunters
trying to poach
endangered species and
sell them. The last thing
the wolf thought about
was regret about eating
that rabbit. This story
teaches us how people
have regret and karma
because of little things in
life.
The Beavers and Their
Dam
There was a group of beavers building
a dam but one beaver was left out. The
left out beaver said to the others “ Can
I help?” “No” said the other beavers.
Day 1
Day 2
The next day, the lone beaver
asked them again, “Can I
help?” the others said in
anger, “NO!” he walked away
sad.
Day 3
Then again the next day, the lone beaver came
and saw the others trapped under a log with
water coming in.” Help!” cried the others.
The lone beaver helped them and fixed the
dam”But why would you do that? We were so
mean to you” said the others Because that's
what friends do.” From then on,the beavers
never left him out again and always helped
him.
The lesson of the story is to
be nice and kind to others no
matter how friends or family
treat you.
The Ant and the Fox
Once there was an ant and a fox. They were
good friends. One day, the fox went to visit the
ant. The ant was building a home so he could
hide from the cold winter days. The fox didn’t
start to build his home. So when the winter came
the fox was not prepared and died from
hypothermia.
The Moral Is: Always Prepare For Life
Because if you dont you can die :)
Cat and her Troubles
Once there was a cat who lived with her
family near a town. Cat worked on her
family’s farm and had a lot of work to do.
But she had one problem. Tomorrow was
Mother’s Day and she had so much work
that she would have to do some on
Mother’s Day.
Cat decided to wake up as early as
possible. The next day Cat woke up at
four o’clock. She finished her work and
made breakfast. When Cat’s family
woke, they found her asleep on the
table.
When Cat awoke, they went out to the
movies. Cat fell asleep during her
mother’s favorite movie. Her mother
gave her a sad look and Cat got yelled at
by her elder sister.
Cat sighed. This was the worst Mother’s
Day ever. Cat needed to finish some
homework for her school for felines, so
she woke up early again to do her work.
She was so tired that she fell asleep
during two tests and got yelled at by her
teachers.
Cat learned a very valuable lesson-
People who try to please everyone,
please no one and exhaust themselves.

  • 74. When Cat awoke, they went out to the movies. Cat fell asleep during her mother’s favorite movie. Her mother gave her a sad look and Cat got yelled at by her elder sister.
  • 75. Cat sighed. This was the worst Mother’s Day ever. Cat needed to finish some homework for her school for felines, so she woke up early again to do her work. She was so tired that she fell asleep during two tests and got yelled at by her teachers.
  • 76. Cat learned a very valuable lesson- People who try to please everyone, please no one and exhaust themselves.
