3. Introduction :
1 . Able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any
physical contact.
2. Emits an electromagnetic field or a beam of electromagnetic
radiation.
3 . Looks for changes in the field or signal.
4 . The object being sensed is often referred to as the proximity
sensor's target.
5 .Different proximity sensor targets demand different sensors
4. Proximity sensor :
A proximity sensor (often simply prox) is a sensor able to detect
the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact.
A proximity sensor often emits an electromagnetic field or a
beam of electromagnetic radiation (infrared, for instance), and
looks for changes in the field or return signal. The object being
sensed is often referred to as the proximity sensor's target.
6. Types of Proximity sensor :
1 ) Inductive Proximity Sensors:
These sensors detect metallic objects by measuring changes in
inductance caused by eddy currents induced in the target.
2 ) Capacitive Proximity Sensors:
These sensors detect both metallic and non-metallic objects by
sensing changes in capacitance caused by the object's proximity.
7. 3) Ultrasonic Proximity Sensors:
These sensors use sound waves to detect the distance to an
object.
They emit ultrasonic pulses and measure the time it takes for the
sound to return after reflecting off the object.
4) Magnetic Proximity Sensors:
These sensors use a magnetic field to detect the presence of
ferrous (iron-containing) objects. They can be used with or
without a magnet, depending on the application.
9. How works for bottle filling and
Manufacturing production line?
1. Maintaining constant pressure head
Description: These switches are employed to sense the minimum and
maximum water levels in the tank.
2. Liquid Level Detection in Bottles:
Description: A capacitive sensor is strategically placed near the top of
the bottle to ensure the maximum liquid level is reached during the
filling process.
10. 3 . Conveyor Activation
After the capacitive sensor confirms the maximum liquid level in
the bottle, the outlet valve of the tank closes, and the conveyor
motor resumes operation. The filled bottle is then transported to the
next stage in the production line.
11. Aplication :
1 ) Manufacturing and automation industry
2 ) Security & access control Appliation : Access control system by
identification of system
3 ) Home Automation :To turn on off light in room , To detect
windows and doors are open or closed
12. Conclusion:
By this presentation I conclude about the working and different
types of proximity sensor , different types of modern application
of it , and its importance in real life world .
