Skill of Explaining is an act
bringing about an Understanding in
some one about a CONCEPT, a
PRINCIPLE, or a PHENOMENON
It has been regarded as a Set
of Interrelated Statements made
by teacher in order to increase the
Understanding of the pupil’s about
Ideas, Concepts, Principles and
Phenomenon.

OPENING OF THE
LESSON :-As we know that
water is most important resource
on the earth surface available in
different sources like
lakes,ponds,rivers& sea etc.the rain
is the biggest natural source of the
water
. Have You ever think how
Rainfall happened. Well dear
students today we will discuss
LOGICAL SEQUENCE OF
THE CONTENT:-
i.e. Increasing Order of
Complexity
Simple to Complex
Known to Unknown
PACE OF EXPLAINING:-
i.e. According to Level
of the Students viz Age,
Potentiality, Grade etc.
COVERED ESSENTIAL
POINTS:-
i.e. important/main
points should be covered
during explanation.
FLUENCY WHILE
EXPLAINING :-
Explanation should
be fluent i.e. with out an
irrelevant / long pause.
APPROPRIATENESS OF
TIME TAKEN :-
i.e. Should be covered with in
5-7 minute
CLARITY WHILE
EXPLAINING:-
Pronunciation of the
words should be Correct and
Explanation should be quite
Audible to entire class
RELEVENEY OF
STATEMENTS :-
statements should be
related to the concept
being taught
AVIDING VAGUE
WORDS & PHRASE:- that
hinder the pupil’s understanding
including the words which are
not known to the pupil’s or
inappropriate to the age,
maturity level& grade.It also
includes those words that Obstruct
the Understanding of an

YOU KNOW

CORRECT
SOMETHING
PERHAPS
PROBABLY
A LITTLE
APPROPRIATE USE OF
TEACHING AIDS:-
Use Teaching Aid i.e.
CHART, MODEL, PICTURE
&REAL OBJECTS etc. to
supplement your concept .
ABSENCE OF
NERVOUSNESS WHILE
EXPLAINING :-Explain the
concept confidently which is
only possible when you have
mastery over the
content/concept clarity
DEFINE TECHNICAL
WORDS:-
Includes that
Words & Statements which are
not known to the students.
USE OF EXPLAINTORY
LINKS:- includes the words
and statements which make
explanation clear by bringing
continuity in the statements
used. Just like:-
