SlideShare is a website where users can upload PowerPoint, PDF, Keynote, and OpenDocument presentations either privately or publicly. Originally meant for businesses to share slides internally, it has expanded to host many slides uploaded for entertainment as well. Key features include analytics, customization options, and video uploads up to 500MB. Advantages include easy setup, low cost, global distribution, and branding opportunities. Disadvantages are needing other programs for creation/editing and lack of transitions. It is accessible via PC, Mac, and smartphones. Upgrading allows paid features but a teacher account is not available.
