Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?Looking back I my preliminary task, I have improved my use of technical codes. Firstly the colour scheme is very different as my music magazine incorporates more variety in colour, making it more interesting, whereas my preliminary task had one main colour which was pink making it quite dull. There was also no thumbnail images, which made the product look less professional and very uninterestingto the reader. A signifigantpart of my progression was learning about the journalistic conventions involved in the creation of the double page spread. Through research and analysis of other interviews with artists, I have learnt what type of questions would be typically found in a music magazine. The contents page from my preliminary task was very poor although it was a moch up, it was all one colour and lacked content. Through creating one for my music magazine, I have learnt how to include relevant details and split the information into sections, to make it clearer to the consumer. Although I had included an editors letter, it did not have a picture and the general quality was not very good. The quality of the images have also improved as I learned more about lighting, position, pose and therefore produced a higher quality image. For example the lighting is quite dark in the image used for my preliminary task due to my choice in cameras, the lighting for my main task is brighter and therefore attracts the reader more. This is because I used a more high quality camera. The pose has also improved as I have positioned the model in a way so that the main focus is her face.
