Smart Car Parking Using IOT
Aim of this Project:
 The main aim of the project is to build a smart parking system
based on IOT. The purpose of this project is to provide automation
for car parking system using IR Sensors.
 This system facilitates the vehicle owners to park their vehicle
without any hassle. This system comprises of a NODEMCU based
monitoring system along with IR Sensors to know which of the slots
are vacant.
 Here we are using IOT to store the vacant slot information into the
Blynk app through WI-FI module.
 The NODEMCU is loaded with a program written in embedded ‘C’
language to perform the task.
 The Features of the project are:
 IR sensor based vehicle detection.
 IOT based vacant slot monitoring
system.
 Using Blynk mobile application to know
the vacant slots.
Hardware:
 Regulated Power Supply of 5V.
 NODEMCU.
 Four IR sensors.
 Software’s used:
 Arduino IDE for compiling and dumping code
into Microcontroller
 Express SCH for Circuit design.
 Proteus for hardware simulation.

Working:
 In this project, we are interfaced 4 IR sensors to the
Node MCU. When the IR sensor was detected the
vehicle at parking slot, this data process to the
NODEMCU. Then NODEMCU update this slot
information into the BLYNK APP through Wi-Fi. So user
can access this device by using mobile and check the
vacant slots information to park the vehicle before
entering the parking area.
Regulated Power Supply:
 PIC Microcontrollers requires a 5V DC for its operation.
 The aim of this block is to convert battery voltage to 5V DC.
 The process of conversion is shown below:

open source software and hardware development

Obstacle detection sensor:
 This sensor is a short range obstacle detector with no
dead zone.
 It has a reasonably narrow detection area which can be
increased using the dual version.
 Range can also be increased by increasing the power to
the IR LEDs or adding more IR LEDs

 Ambient light protected IR receiver
 3 pin easy interface connectors
 Bus powered module
 Indicator LED
 Up to 12 inch range for white object
 Can differentiate between dark and light colors.
