- 2. 1 © 2018 FUJITSU Introduction The Solution and/or Service dedicate to Backup, based on the use of the Backup Service available in Cloud Azure, is designed to meet the needs of Small and Medium Business Market (SMB) with specific attention to flexibility and costs. SMB market is often characterized by tight budgets and a high demand for scalability (sizing) and flexibility (availability). This study provides a solution compelling with the Customer needs, including a “Data Business Continuity“ capability. The service solution has been designed in order to provide 2 possible scenarios: Hybrid solution using Fujitsu HW Storage Products and Azure Apps Standard solution based on the Azure Backup Service to be implemented on the Customer's infrastructure "On- Premises“. The Hybrid solution consists of the provision of an adequate capacity NAS that directly interfaces(App) with the Storage Azure Service, without the need of dedicated backup infrastructures. If the NAS is already installed, it will be necessary to check if NAS Operating System can support the Azure Feature( App) and consequently update the software if possible. The Standard solution, with Azure Backup Service, is based on the creation of a Virtual Backup infrastructure on Azure dedicate to the Backup Service. It is necessary to install the Azure Agent on a server in the Customer's Datacenter and that will be subsequently connected to Azure.
- 3. 2 © 2018 FUJITSU Hybrid solution with Fujitsu Storage Unit + Azure App The main component of this solution is a Fujitsu Storage product belonging to the "CELVIN" category. Fujitsu CELVIN storage units offer both a local backup solution (high performance - low GB costs) and backup functionality and on various types of cloud, through the installation and customization of some specific features (App) of the NAS Operating System. These units allow to back up data on various storage services on major public clouds such as: Microsoft Azure, AWS S3, IBM. The storage compatibility with private clouds, based on OpenStack Swift and WebDAV, is also guaranteed. These solutions are easy to implement, rich in functionalities and intrinsically secure for access and retention features. The storage and data retention are not subjected to legal regulations. Fujitsu CELVIN NAS Operating System has a SW component (App) that acts as a "cloud storage gateway(*)“ to Azure and is used to perform data backups on Microsoft Azure Storage Service. The storage area that will be necessary reserve in Azure, dedicate to Data Backup, is in mode : Block Blobs (*) A cloud storage gateway is a software or hardware networking device that provides connectivity and protocol translation services between a cloud storage and the local storage
- 4. 3 © 2018 FUJITSU Hybrid solution with Fujitsu Storage Unit + Azure Cloud Microsoft Azure offers reliable and scalable cloud storage, backup and recovery solutions for data of any size, working on the existing infrastructure to economically enhance existing applications and business continuity strategy, with costs only on data that is restored. This feature allows to create simple and accessible recovery plans in addition to data retention without problems for regulatory and archival purposes. Microsoft Azure provides three types of storage: (1) Blob, (2) Table and (3) Queue. There are two types of Blobs: Block Blob and Page Blob. The storage feature that should be used for this solution is: Block Blob. This storage mode will be used as it has been designed for large amounts of text (data), unstructured text or binary data such as video, audio and images.
- 5. 4 © 2018 FUJITSU Azure Blob concept The concept of Storage Blob in Azure is: Storage Account = all access to Azure Storage is performed by a storage account. Container: a container offers the grouping for a series of Blobs. All Blobs must be in a container. An account can contain an unlimited number of containers. A container can store an unlimited number of blobs. Blob: A file of any type and size as: data, images, movies. URL format: Blobs can be addressed with the following URL format: http: //.blob.core.windows.net//
- 6. 5 © 2018 FUJITSU Hybrid Solution Fujitsu + Azure App: backup feature The Backup features, provided by the application, integrate in Fujitsu Storage Unit and NAS Operating System and designed for Azure Cloud Backup are: Backup: manual and planned Backup: incremental and complete Restore: manual action with complete data or single file SSL transfer encryption and client-side AES-256 encryption Manage multiple cloud accounts Network error recovery options and process activity log for tracking history Multi-thread data transfer in a process Execution of contemporary processes Direct recovery from the cloud for recovery events
- 7. 6 © 2018 FUJITSU Standard Solution: native Azure Backup Service Azure Backup Service is the Azure-based service that allows Customers to back up data in Cloud, in a secure mode, and that provides the data restore functionality from the Cloud if needed. Azure Backup replaces Customer existing local or external backup solution with a reliable, secure, and affordable cloud-based solution. Azure Backup service offers the following main advantages: Automatic archiving management: Hybrid environments often require heterogeneous storage, partly in local and partly in the cloud Unlimited scalability : Azure Backup uses the potential and unlimited scalability of Azure Cloud to provide high availability without maintenance costs. More storage options: Azure Backup offers two types of replication: storage with local redundancy and storage with geographic redundancy. Unlimited data transfer : Azure Backup does not limit the amount of data transferred inbound or outbound. Data encryption : Data encryption enables secure data transmission and storage in the cloud Long-term retention : It is possible to define the retention of short-term and long-term data.

Any error, malfunction or failure are addressed to Fujitsu's SOC where they will be taken over with the execution of the appropriate actions, such as: activation of a hardware maintenance support check the Cloud connections and agents or Apps functionality recovery of the operations Check of the Backup status (included) and restore activities (on-demand) Remote control of the infrastructure : Fujitsu accesses the infrastructure remotely, controls its correct operation and possibly intervenes for the appropriate optimization actions Optional Services: Fujitsu install a Monitoring tools able to automatically send alerts to the SOC for their taking charge and management.
