Food security is a pressing global challenge, necessitating strategies to enhance soil quality for increased crop production as the population grows. Current soil degradation threatens our ability to produce sufficient food, with over 40% of agricultural soil classified as degraded and only about 60 years of usable topsoil remaining. Immediate action is essential to restore soils and manage resources sustainably to avoid future food insecurity and geopolitical instability.
