This document outlines a lesson plan for teaching 7th grade students how to solve one-variable equations. The class has 24 students from diverse racial backgrounds. The lesson will use a flipped classroom approach where students watch an instructional video at home and practice problems in class. The teacher will ensure all students have access to the video by providing links on Twitter and DVDs for those without internet. In class, students who watched the video can complete the assignment, while others must watch it then or work with peers. The assignment given in class will be graded, with prepared students finishing in class and unprepared students required to finish for the next day.
