- 2. Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 3. • There is a very annoying ticking noise that is not needed for music recording. To turn this off go to settings at the top and click of metronome • When on metronome, look to options at the bottom right hand of the settings box. The ‘click while recording’ box should be UNTICKED to turn this off Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 4. • In the bottom left hand corner, Input 1 and Stereo One should always be on. If not, change it by clicking on each and choosing these options • To begin recording you simply press the record button (must be on red to record) or alternatively press ’R’ on the keyboard Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 5. • The levels are critical to the quality of the sound. This bar in the bottom left corner SHOULD move when recording. However it should not hit the top of the bar! This will distort the sound • It should always be between half way and three quarters up the bar for optimum sound Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 6. • If the levels are either too low or too high, use the black dial on the turny box. Mess around with this both right and left until the levels on the screen are better (based on the last slide) • For the top image, use the black nozzle and for the bottom image use the nozzle furthest to the left Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 7. • If you need to re-record over a particular part you can do so by bringing back the pointer back over the section (or a couple of seconds before the section) and pressing record • If you want to shorten your re- record slightly you can by hovering over the record and cropping it Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 8. • To add layers to your song, ie harmonies, select the plus button above Audio 1 • Make sure when you are recording a layer you mute the original layer (unless the musician wants to listen to the melody to work with) Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 9. • To record from a second microphone in the studio, go to the new track button from the previous slide, and select input 2 Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 10. • For uploading backing tracks to record over, find browser in the top right corner. Then click the home symbol, and press desktop and choose the audio file to upload Logic pro (9) – for beginners
- 11. • Finally, to export your finished song go to File and then choose Bounce (leave all settings as they are) Logic pro (9) – for beginners
