  Speech 2B
What are griffins?
 It’s a legendary creature with the
body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head
and wings of an eagle; and an eagle's talons
    as its front feet.
 As the lion was traditionally considered the
king of the beasts and the eagle was the king
of the birds, the griffin was thought to be an
    especially powerful and majestic creature.
 The griffin was also thought of as king of the
    creatures.
 a griffin's claw was believed to
have medicinal properties and one of its
feathers could restore sight to the blind.
 Griffins are known for guarding treasure and
    priceless possessions.
 Griffins not only mated for life, but also, if either
partner died, then the other would continue
throughout the rest of its life alone, never to
    search for a new mate.
What is a phoenix?
 The phoenix is a bird with beautiful gold
    and red plumage.
 It’s a long-lived bird that is cyclically
    regenerated or reborn.
 It has a 500 to 1000 year life-cycle, near
the end of which it builds itself a nest of
twigs that then ignites; both nest and
bird burn fiercely and are reduced to
ashes, from which a new, young phoenix
    arises.
 The new phoenix is destined to live as
    long as its old self.
 It is said that the bird's cry is that of a
    beautiful song.
 In very few stories they are able to
    change into people.
What are hellhounds?
 It’s a supernatural dog, found in folklore.
 Features that have been attributed to hellhounds
include black fur, glowing red or sometimes glowing
yellow eyes, super strength or speed, ghostly or
phantom characteristics, foul odor, and sometimes
    even the ability to talk.
 Legend says that if someone stares into its eyes
three times or more, they will definitely die.
 In cultures that associate the afterlife with
fire, hellhounds may have fire-based abilities and
    appearance.
 They are often assigned to guard the entrances to
the world of the dead, such as graveyards and
burial grounds, or undertake other duties related to
the afterlife or the supernatural, such as hunting lost
souls or guarding a supernatural treasure.
 In European legends, seeing a hellhound or hearing
it howl may be either an omen of death or even a
    cause of death.

                                                              I’m so
                                                              sorry…
What are dragons?

fins of some fish, or the horns of a stag.
2. Japanese Dragon(Ryu): Similar to Chinese

      grant wishes.
3. English Dragon(Wyvern): Wyverns are common
in medieval heraldry. Wyverns are normally shown as
dragons with two legs and two wings.
4. Slavic Dragons: Similar to the

They breathe fire and/or leave fiery wakes as they fly.
What’s an angel?

back, a halo, robes and various forms of glowing light.
 Their form varies along with their status(order from highest status
     to lowest status):
1. Seraphim(burning ones): Their primary mission is to protect the throne of
God. They have six wings: two cover their faces, two cover their bodies, and two
      cover their feet.
2. Cherubim: They have four faces: one of a man, one of an ox, one of an
eagle, and one of a lion.
3. Thrones: These angels dispense God’s divine judgment.
4. Dominions: They give power to heads of government and other authority
