PLAY PRODUCTION

    Miguel Luis Narcida
   Ramon Kristoff Locsin
   Robert Martin Puerta
   Mark Isaiah Karl Ciocon
Theatre presupposes collaborative
modes of production and a collective
form of reception.
The structure of dramatic texts is
directly influenced by this collaborative
production and collaborative
production.
Production involves
contributions FROM:
• Playwright
• Director
• Actors
• Production team
The technical aspects of
theatrical production are described
collectively as “STAGECRAFT”.
     Stagecraft is considered a
technical rather than an artistic
field. This distinguishes it from the
more recent, wilder discipline of
scenography.
Stagecraft may be implemented by
any number of workers. The modern
form of stagecraft is highly technical
and specialized.
    Regional theatres and larger
community theatres will generally have
a technical director and a complement
of designers.
STEPS TO TAKE IN
PLAY PRODUCTION
1. Find your play
a. Hire a script writer.
b. Write your own script.
c. Buy a script from a script selling facility.
2. Find a director
- You must find a director suitable for the

play. Take note of their genre

     specialties.
3. Choose a cast
- Actors and actresses may be
    chosen through
    readings/auditions.
Note: If there is music and/or dance
involved, you will also need to
    selected a choreographer and a
    musical director.
4. Prepare the venue
-Before starting with the rehearsals, one

     must have already prepared the

venue for these practices and the

     actual play.
La Scala de Milan; Milan, Italy

Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino
5. Allow the cast to rehearse
- Give the actors and other artists their

     scripts/songs/dance sequences (Optional)

and a chance to perform their roles before

     the actual play.
6. Create the set
- Find a set designer and stage manager to

     engage the people involved in

creating the overall setting of the play.
7. Find a costumer
- A costumer should be assigned to make

     sure that everyone is dressed

     appropriately and that the costumes

are designed according to the needs

     of the character.
8. Hire make-up and hair
          personnel
- These people are needed to create the

“LOOK” which suits the need of each

     character.
9. Final rehearsal
- Keep watch on everything that goes on in

the play. Make sure that the play

captures the overall vision of the

     director.
10. Advertise
- Try to find ways to spread news of

    your play.

- Ex. TV, radio, and other types of

    media.
THE END!!! :DDDD
